The 35th match of the BPL 2019-20 will be played between Cumilla Warriors and Sylhet Thunder on Tuesday.

Cumilla Warriors are hanging in the qualification race at the moment. They are at the 5th place, just 2 pts off Khulna Tigers which means a win will do them great. However, a loss may slip their chances further from the qualification.

Meanwhile, Sylhet Thunder are having a horrible season and are the only team out of play-off contention. They have just 2 points after 11 games, having lost 10 games. However, it’s teams like these who play a vital role in other team’s chances.

Cumilla Warriors won back-to-back matches to keep their chances alive. Upul Tharanga led the team in Dawid Malan’s absence and scored a valiant 45 opening the batting. Sabbir Rahman and Soumya Sarkar are expected to play a crucial role in the middle order. 

All-rounder David Wiese will be expected to play the finisher and send some crucial overs in the middle phase.

Soumya Sarkar is having a quiet couple of matches with the bat after scoring a fighting 48-ball 88 against Rajshahi Royals. His bowling has been the surprise package for the team this season with regular wickets.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman was literally unplayable against Sylhet Thunder and led his team to victory in the super over. He had dream figures of 4-0-12-4 in the last match and came back to bowl the super over to give away just 7 runs. Mujeeb is in red hot form and will continue his impressive bowling.

Al Amin Hossain and Sunamul Hossain chipped in wickets and kept their team in the hunt during the chase. 

Sylhet Thunder’s performance in BPL 2019-20:

Sylhet Thunder will be playing their last match this season and will look to sign off with a win. Mohammed Mithun, Andre Fletcher, and Jonathan Charles are the only consistent performers with the bat. Mosadek Hossain and Shane Rutherford came up with crucial knocks but failed to perform consistently. 

Mohammed Mithun has scored 331 runs at a strike rate of 130 this season with two half-centuries. He will look to finish his good season with the bat with a dominating performance.

Shane Rutherford and Monir Hossain contributed with good economical spells but Sohag Gazi and Krish Santokie gave runs at over 12 RPO causing the team to give away 199 runs last match. Their bowling unit will look to make a good effort one last time.

Ebadat Hossain has 13 wickets so far at an economy rate of 7.4 RPO He will look to keep up his bowling and look to impress the national selectors in this match.
