January 2, 2020
Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet
The 30th match of BPL 2019-20 will see Sylhet Thunder lock horns with fifth placed Comilla Warriors on Thursday.
Sylhet Thunder are languishing at the bottom of the BPL 2019-20 points table with just one win and seven losses from eight league matches. They are coming into this match on the back of three successive defeats – against Dhaka Platoon, Khulna Tigers and Rangpur Rangers.
Comilla Warriors have won three and lost five out of the eight matches they have played so far in BPL 2019-20. After losing four games in a row, the Warriors managed to end their losing streak with a three-wicket win over Chattogram Challengers last time out.
Sylhet Thunder performance in BPL 2019-20:
Sylhet Thunder will look to their opening pair of Johnson Charles and Andre Fletcher to score the bulk of their runs. The former has scored the most runs for the team – 262 runs which includes a couple of fifties.
Mohammad Mithun too has been among the runs.
In terms of bowling, Ebadat Hossain and Naveen-ul-Haq seem to be the Thunder’s best bets. Hossain has been the pick of the bowlers with 8 wickets at an economy of 6.89.
Sylhet Thunder made as many as four changes to their team in their seven-wicket loss to Rangpur Rangers; they dropped Rubel Mia, Delwar Hossain, Krishmar Santokie and Nazmul Islam and replaced them by Naveen-ul-Haq, Nazmul Hossain Milon, Sohag Gazi and Monir Hossain.
However, the Thunder are expected to keep an unchanged eleven for their clash against Cumilla Warriors.
