BPL-2019-20-Dhaka-Platoon-vs-Comilla-Warriors

Dhaka Platoon will face Comilla Warriors in the 6th game of BPL 2019-20 on Friday. The Mashrafe Mortaza-led Dhaka are coming on the back of a humiliating 9-wicket defeat, suffered at the hands of Rajshahi Royals in their first game.

Comilla Warriors, on the other hand, started their campaign on a high as they demolished Rangpur Rangers in their opening match of BPL 2019-20. Skipper Dasun Shanaka stole the show by smashing a quick-fire 75 off 31 balls, helping Warriors post 173.

Dhaka Platoon’s performance in BPL 2019-20:

Anamul Haque starred for Platoon as he scored 38 runs off 33 deliveries despite the team managing just 134. Their batsmen failed to leave a mark in the game, with only 3 batsmen- Anamul Haque, Laurie Evans and Jaker Ali scoring in double digits. It was Mashrafe Mortaza and Wahab Riaz’s 23-run partnership that took them to a respectable total.

However, Mortaza, Mahedi Hasan, Riaz and Shahid Afridi all failed to leave an impact.

The trio of Tamim Iqbal, Laurie Evans and Haque will be aiming to guide their side to a flying start after failing in the first game. Despite getting out on a golden duck in his previous match, Shahid Afridi has the potential to turn the tables in Platoon’s favour with his robust power. The experience of Afridi, Thisara Perera and Mortaza will be vital for the Platoon.

Comilla Warriors’s performance in BPL 2019-20:

Al-Amin Hossain emerged as the pick of Warriors’ bowlers as he scalped three wickets and conceded only 14 runs in his spell in the first game against Rangpur Rangers. He was assisted by Soumya Sarkar and Sunzamul Islam, who also picked up two wickets each.

Warriors will be relying on Yasir Ali and Sarkar to propel them to a good start. Dawid Malan and skipper Shanaka will also bolster their middle order. With the ball, Mujeeb Ur Rahman will lead the way for the Warriors, while Abu Hider Rony and Al Amin Hossain will take the new ball.

Pitch Report for today's BPL:

3 of the first 4 games of BPL 2019-20 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium have been won by the chasing team. Only the Warriors have been able to put 170 plus runs on the scoreboard. 153 is the average 1st inning score in BPL 2019-20.

Today’s match toss prediction:

In each of their last 3 games, St Kitts won the toss and chose to field. In each of their last 3 games, Jamaica won the toss and chose to field. In every game, anyone who wins the toss chooses to field. It seems like the game in which Chris Gayle will dominate, as he did in the return fixture with a 116 off 62 balls. And with a more balanced and penetrating bowling attack than St. Kitts, they should be able to record just their 2nd win of CPL 2019.
