The 7th match of Super Smash 2019-20 will see Auckland Aces face Otago Volts for the second time in the tournament.

Auckland Aces will be keen to avenge their loss to Volts in the Super Smash 2019-20 opener. Aces are coming on the back of a washed-out game against Canterbury.

Meanwhile, Otago Volts are seating at the top of the Super Smash 2019-20 table with 2 wins from 2 games, including in the last game against the Northern Knights, and will be hoping to continue their red-hot form.

Auckland Aces performance in Super Smash T20:

Auckland Aces opener their account in the Super Smash after rain hampered their game against Canterbury. They rose a place in the standings and their aim will be to continue their stride upwards.

Even the loss against Volts in the first game didn’t see them fail miserably. The bowlers were slightly costly as they conceded 210 runs. But they almost chased it, courtesy Glenn Phillips’ ton and Martin Guptill’s breathless innings.

There is nothing much to panic for them as it’s early in the tournament.

The onus to improve rests on their experienced campaigners like Will Somerville and Mitch McClenaghan.

They are likely to name the same set of players for this match and they will expect their star internationals such as Colin Munro, Martin Guptill and Corey Anderson to get them the first win of the season.

Otago Volts performance in Super Smash T20:

Otago are likely to field an unchanged side after a brilliant start to Super Smash 2019-20. Neil Broom and Hamish Rutherford will open the batting with a heap of allrounders following them in the middle order. Broom was in excellent form in the last match against Northern Knights and scored 32 runs off 15 balls.

Josh Finnie, Dean Foxcroft and Nick Kelly will be responsible for providing stability and lead the Volts in the middle order. They have a long batting unit with Max Chu batting at number nine for the Volts.

Their bowlers were also on the mark with Michael Rippon and Jacob Duffy impressing with the ball in hand. Nathan G Smith will be the key bowler to watch out following his impressive 5 wicket haul against Northern Knights.
