EPL Predictions 2019-20: Wolves vs Liverpool

January 24, 2020, Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves host Liverpool as they look to at least retain their 6th place standing in the PL.

Wolves secured a much-needed first win in four PL league matches on Saturday as they showed great spirit to come from two goals down to win 3-2 at Southampton. Inspired by Adama Traore, the home side will hope to inflict Liverpool’s first defeat of the season on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool moved 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have now earned 64 of an available 66 points this season. The Reds have lost two of their last five meetings with Wolves, but both of those came in the FA Cup, with Reds winning the other three league matches.

Wolves performance in EPL 2019:

Ruben Vinagre and Willy Boly miss out once more for Wolves, while Diogo Jota is close to a return.

Nuno Espirito Santo has a thin squad to select from and may name the same XI that started the 3-2 win at Southampton.

Wolves predicted XI:

Rui Patricio; Romain Saiss, Conor Coady, Leander Dendoncker; Jonny, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Matt Doherty; Pedro Neto, Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore.

Liverpool performance in EPL 2019:

Jurgen Klopp had Fabinho and Joel Matip start the 2-0 win over Manchester United on the bench, with the former making a cameo appearance and the Brazilian could make his first competitive start since November here.

Dejan Lovren will be assessed, while Naby Keita, Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner miss out.

Though Sadio Mane had a tough afternoon against Manchester United on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to tinker with the front 3 as he looks to seal the title as soon as possible and also continue their surge towards an invincible season.

Liverpool predicted XI:

Alisson; Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold; Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.
