Liverpool vs Leicester City

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

After taking a 5-point lead over Manchester City early in EPL 2019, Liverpool will look to continue their winning form when they host Leicester City on Saturday. Their scrappy 1-0 win against Sheffield United, coupled with a patchy defensive display that saw them concede 3 times against Red Bull means the Reds would be as motivated as ever.

Meanwhile, Leicester come into this clash in great form having thrashed Newcastle 5-0 last week, a result that sent them 3rd in the table. They look to be the most likely candidate, given the struggling form of Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal, to gate-crash the ‘big 6’ party.

Squads and Predicted Lineups:

Liverpool

Alisson is back in training, but isn’t likely to be fit enough to start until after the international break.

Joel Matip is a doubt for the home side and will be assessed closer to kick off, with Joe Gomez in line to deputise if required.

Xherdan Shaqiri is less likely to feature than Matip, having sustained a calf injury and it is unclear yet how long the midfielder could be out for.

Nathaniel Clyne will also miss the game.

Liverpool are likely to stick to the 4-3-3 formation.

Probable line-up: Adrian; Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold; Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson; Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah.

Leicester City

James Maddison may miss out with an ankle problem, which would be a blow for the Foxes, but Brendan Rodgers will give the creator every opportunity to recover.

Matty James, however, miss out with a calf problem.

Rodgers may name the same formation (4-1-4-1) and the same XI that blew Newcastle away last weekend, Maddison’s fitness pending.

Probable line-up: Kasper Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Ben Chilwell; Wilfried Ndidi; Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet, Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy.

Today’s Football Match Prediction:

1- There’s no doubt that Liverpool’s front 3 possess threats. However, their back 3 are no dangerous either. In addition to their defensive capabilities, they are not scared to push forward either. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson have set up 2 goals each, only Roberto Firmino has set up more for Liverpool. Arnold has also scored a goal, and so has Virgil van Dijk. Don’t be surprised if they scored or assist again.

2- Liverpool haven’t lost to Leicester at home since 2000, and though Alisson’s injury has left a void behind, they make-up for it ahead and are likely to extend that run for another year.

3- Liverpool have won their last 16 English Premier League games, and are just 2 behind Manchester City’s all-time record set 2 years ago. So, don’t expect any the leaders to go soft.

4- Liverpool have built a fortress at Anfield. They are unbeaten in last 43 league games at home which is the longest current run in the top 5 European leagues.

5- Since the appointment of Brendan Rodgers, only Manchester City and Liverpool have won more points than the Foxes. A promising sign that should make the game interesting.

6- Liverpool have been winning at both half time and full time in 9 of their last 10 home matches in English Premier League. They have scored at least 2 goals in all 10 of these games, facts that promise a goal-fest on Saturday.

7- Jamie Vardy has thrived since Rodgers took charge in March, scoring five league goals this EPL 2019 and 14 in 17 matches. He has scored 7 and set up 1 in 9 games against the Reds.
