Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

Perth Scorchers will be hosting in-form Brisbane Heat in the 32nd game of Big Bash League 2019-20 at Perth Stadium in Perth on Saturday.

Perth Scorchers have managed to win just three games out of seven played this season. Three-time BBL Champions will need to bring their A-game to the table in this home fixture. In the previous game, Scorchers comfortably brushed aside Renegades, courtesy splendid performances from Jhye Richardson, Liam Livingstone and wicket-keeper Josh Inglis.

On the other hand, Brisbane Heat have played excellent cricket and managed to win three games on the trot. Bowlers put in a splendid performance to see Brisbane Heat register a comfortable win over Hobart Hurricanes.

Perth Scorchers registered 40 runs to win over Brisbane Heat when they faced each other earlier this season.

Perth Scorchers performance in Big Bash League:

Majestic performances from the opening pair of Josh Inglis and Liam Livingston saw Scorchers register a six-wicket win over Renegades in a game played on Tuesday. Chasing 176 runs to win the game, Perth openers Josh Inglis and Liam Livingstone got the side off to a flying start and put on 102-run partnership in the first 10 overs of the innings.

In the bowling department, Jhye Richardson was the standout. He finished with figures of 3 for 22 in his four overs.

Chris Jordan and Matthew Kelly conceded a lot of runs and will need to put in an improved performance with the ball against Brisbane Heat.

Brisbane Heat performance in Big Bash League:

Former South African batsman AB De Villiers and Afghanistan off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman are expected to join the Brisbane Heat and will be available for selection for this game.

The franchise has managed to build nice momentum after winning three games on the bounce in the competition. Captain Chris Lynn will be pleased with his side’s performance in the game played against Hobart Hurricanes.

Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat Predicted line-up:

Perth Scorchers predicted XI: Josh Inglis (wk), Liam Livingstone, Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Bancroft, Tim David, Ashton Agar, Cameron Green, Chris Jordan, Matthew Kelly, Jhye Richardson, Fawad Ahmed

Brisbane Heat predicted XI: Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, AB De Villiers, Joe Burns, Jimmy Peirson (wk), Ben Cutting, Josh Lalor, Mitchell Swepson, Ben Laughlin, Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 30th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will see Melbourne Renegades take on Melbourne Stars in the Melbourne derby on Friday.

BBL 2019-20 season is on the move with the Australian summer and the end of the test series might bring in more star players to the team. The league phase will get more and more interesting as it approaches the end.

The two Melbourne franchises fight it out here and they are having different campaigns so far. Melbourne Stars are at the top of the table while defending champions Melbourne Renegades are reeling at the bottom.

Melbourne Stars registered a comfortable 8-wicket win when the two sides faced each other earlier this season.

Melbourne Renegades performance in Big Bash League:

Renegades will need to free themselves from the mental pressure of winning and should enjoy playing the game at the moment. Beau Webster and Sam Harper’s half-centuries took their team to a good total of 175 runs from a worrisome position of 48/3 at the end of 7 overs in the last game.

Aaron Finch and Shaun marsh have fared better with some cameos but are not consistent enough to their levels. Dan Christian and Marcus Harris are the biggest failures from the team this season. Kane Richardson is their best bowler on display this season with 10 scalps.

Richard Gleeson and Cameron Boyce have fared better with 6 & 5 wickets respectively. The rest of the bowling attack has contributed with just 4 wickets in the 7 matches so far.

Kane Richardson has an economy of 6.6 RPO and has taken 10 wickets. No Other bowler has conceded less than 7 RPO for their team (min. 5 overs). He has been the lone warrior with the ball in hand for them.

Melbourne Stars performance in Big Bash League:

Melbourne Stars have had their best season with 6 wins of 7 matches and a couple of more wins will secure them a place in knockouts. Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell lead the batting chart for their team with 331 & 227 runs respectively. The rest of the batting line up looks weak as no other batsmen have crossed the 100-run tally so far after 7 matches.

Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf is having a dream season with 14 wickets in just 4 matches so far. Nathan Coulter-Nile and Daniel Worrall will join Rauf to form the pace bowling unit for their team.

The spin trio of Adam Zampa, Sandeep Lamichhane and Glenn Maxwell has been their biggest strength with a combined tally of 6 wickets at less than 7 RPO.

Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Predicted line-up:

Melbourne Renegades

Marcus Harris, Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Sam Harper (wk), Beau Webster, Daniel Christian, Samit Patel, Will Sutherland, Kane Richardson, Cameron Boyce, Richard Gleeson

Melbourne Stars

Marcus Stoinis, Nic Maddinson, Nick Larkin, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Handscomb (wk), Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Zampa, Daniel Worrall, Haris Rauf, Sandeep Lamichhane.

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the third of the five Big Bash League 2019-20 season games to be played at Docklands Stadium, Melbourne.

Adelaide Strikers defended a total of 155 against Melbourne Renegades and won the match by 18 runs in the first match played at the venue this season. Meanwhile, Sydney Sixers registered a 6-wicket win over Melbourne Renegades while chasing a target of 154 in the second game.

Of the 7 games played at the venue during Big Bash League 2018-19, 4 were won by the team batting first and 3 were won by the team chasing the total.

138 was the average 1st inning score at the venue during Big Bash League 2018-19.

No T20I has been played at the venue so far.

Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Marcus Stoinis has scored 331 runs in 7 innings at an average of 66.20 and is leading the batting charts in Big Bash League 2019-20 so far.
  2. Beau Webster is scoring runs at an average of 78.66 and at an strike rate of 142 in Big Bash League 2019-20. He has scored 236 runs in 7 innings and is the leading run-getter for Melbourne Renegades so far.
  3. Melbourne Stars have been dominating the head to head clashes by 12-5 so far in Big Bash League.
  4. Haris Rauf has picked 13 wickets in just 4 games and is currently 2nd in the bowling chart of Big Bash 2019-20.
  5. Kane Richardson needs 5 more wickets to become the first player in Melbourne Renegades’ history to pick 50 wickets.
  6. 285 runs were scored when the two sides faced each other earlier this season. 29 boundaries were scored in that inning.

Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

After playing host to the opening game of Big Bash 2019-20, The Gabba is set to host the 29th match of the tournament, after almost 23 days. The game will see Brisbane Heat play host to Hobart Hurricanes. Both the teams have identical stats so far this season. They are just separated by run rate with both teams having won 3 games each and lost the other 3 they have played.

Brisbane Heat have got some momentum at probably the right phase of the tournament. It started during the reverse fixture of this game when they beat the Hurricanes by 31 runs on January 3 before beating Sydney Thunder by 16 runs. They have won their last 2 games after losing 3 of their first 4 games in Big Bash 2019-20.

Meanwhile, Hobart Hurricanes returned to winning ways after edging Perth Scorchers by 8 runs in their last game to end their 2-game losing streak.

Hobart Hurricanes performance in Big Bash League:

D Arcy Short must be high on confidence having scored a ton in his last innings, against Perth Scorchers. His 70-ball knock meant no other batsmen could do much, other than watching from the other end.

However, their bowlers had to deal with late pressure to seal the game for them. Scott Boland and Nathan Ellis picked up 2 wickets each Thomas Rogers, Riley Meredith and Qais Ahmad were brilliant for their 1-wicket each.

They would like to continue their momentum and are unlikely to tinker with their winning formation.

5 batsmen got the starts but could not play a big knock when the 2 sides met last time. Including Clive Rose, who scored 27 off 13, 6 batters scored in the 20s in that game.

Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Predicted line-up:

Brisbane Heat

Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn (c), Matt Renshaw, Ben Cutting, Jimmy Peirson (wk), Josh Lalor, Mitchell Swepson, Jack Prestwidge, Zahir Khan, Ben Laughlin

Hobart Hurricanes

George Bailey, David Miller, Scott Boland, Ben McDermott (c & wk), Simon Milenko, D Arcy Short, Qais Ahmad, Caleb Jewell, Riley Meredith, Thomas Rogers, Nathan Ellis

Pitch Report for today's BBL

The Gabba is usually a high scoring venue and plenty of runs should be scored in this match as well.

The average first innings score on this venue is 166 runs and the average second inning score is 145 runs. 209 runs in 20 overs is the highest score on this venue in Big Bash League.

Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes: Today's Match Prediction

  1. The last game between the 2 sides saw 393 runs on the board with 16 players getting a chance to bat. 15 sixes were hit in the match.
  2. Heat’s Chris Lynn has scored 242 runs in the tournament so far while Matt Renshaw has 156 and Tom Banton has 151.
  3. Meanwhile, Hurricanes’ Darcy Short has 248 runs
  4. Hurricanes’ Riley Meredith has picked up 10 wickets and Heat’s Laughlin has 7 wickets.
  5. Brisbane Heat def Hobart Hurricanes in their last head to head clash. However, that is their only win in last 5 head to head clashes.

Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

Melbourne Stars return to action in the Big Bash League 2019-20 after 4 days when they host Sydney Thunder in the 28th match of Big Bash 2019-20 on Wednesday.

The Stars are on the top spot in BBL 2019-20 (before Wednesday) despite playing 1 game less than nearest rivals Sydney Sixes. The Stars are coming on the back of an 8-wicket win over Melbourne Renegades in Melbourne Derby on Saturday. Another win for them will open a healthy lead from the 4th spot.

Meanwhile, Sydney Thunder have had mixed fortunes so far. They lost to Sydney Sixer in Super Over in 1 game, had a game abandoned and lost a rain-affected game against Brisbane Heat, their latest game, by 16 runs. They are 4th in the table with 7 points from 7 games. However, a defeat might see them slip down the table.

Melbourne Stars performance in Big Bash League:

They look to be the team of the tournament so far. Their bowlers are partnering well while their batsmen are brilliantly complementing the bowlers.

The last game against Renegades saw Dale Steyn and Adam Zampa pick 2 wickets while Sandeep Lamichhane picked up 3 wickets.

Marcus Stoinis has been a consistent contributor with the bat and is the team’s leading run scorer- 213 runs.

Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell has also been in good form. He has played some valuable knock with the bat and has also chipped in with a few good overs.

Sydney Thunder performance in Big Bash League:

Usman Khawaja had a forgettable outing against Brisbane Heat in the last game and would be eager to get back among runs.

The rain affected game saw glimpses of Thunder batsmen which they would be hoping to convert in match winning knocks.

Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder Predicted line-up:

Melbourne Stars

Dale Steyn, Nic Maddinson, Glenn Maxwell (c), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ben Dunk, Peter Handscomb (wk), Adam Zampa, Daniel Worrall, Marcus Stoinis, Nick Larkin, Sandeep Lamichhane.

Sydney Thunder

Usman Khawaja, Alex Hales, Callum Ferguson (c), Matthew Gilkes (wk), Alex Ross, Chris Morris, Daniel Sams, Chris Green, Arjun Nair, Chris Tremain, Brendan Doggett.

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the second of five games to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne during Big Bash League 2019-20.

Off the 13 T20Is played at the venue, 5 have been won by team batting first, 7 by the team chasing total while one ended in no result.

139 is the average 1st inning score while 131 is the average 2nd inning score.

184/3 is the highest total recorded while even as low as 74 has also been defended at the venue.

3 of the 5 games played at the venue during last season were won by the team batting first.

Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Marcus Stoinis is the highest run getter in BBL 2019-20 so far. His 281 runs is 28 more than Callum Ferguson, who has played a game more than the former. Ferguson will be keen to go past Stoinis.
  2. Melbourne Stars have won 5 of their 6 games, only losing to Adelaide Strikers – by just 4 runs.
  3. Marcus Stoinis completed 2000 runs in Twenty20 cricket during his unbeaten fifty against Renegades. His 68-run knock is the 10th fifty by him in this format and nine of them coming for the Melbourne Stars in the BBL.
  4. Dale Steyn completed 250 wickets in the Twenty20 format with the first of his two wickets in the last game. He is the 3rd player from South Africa with 250 T20 wickets after Imran Tahir (355) and Alfonso Thomas (263).
  5. Dale Steyn is only the 9th player in professional cricket with 250+ wickets in all three formats (FC / List A / T20). Except for Tahir and Steyn, all the remaining seven players in this list are from the Asian continent.
  6. Sydney Thunder’s Daniel Sams is the leading wicket taker in BBL 2019-20, having picked up 14 wickets. His teammate Chris Morris has 8.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers lock horns for the 2nd time in 3 days when the Big Bash League 2019-20 returns for another double-header on Wednesday. The 27th match of the season will see Sydney Sixers travel to Adelaide after winning the reverse fixture by 7 wickets on Sunday.

Sydney Sixers have done immensely well to keep themselves on the 2nd place in the table after losing 2 of the first 3 games. They have won their last 4 games, including 1 in Super Over, and have joined most points- 10- in BBL 2019-20 so far.

Meanwhile, Adelaide Strikers are just below their opponents in the standings, separated by just 3 points. They would be eager to avenge their loss against the same opponent in the last game while also breaking free of Sydney Thunder, also 7 points in the table.

The last game between the sides saw Australian pacer Josh Hazelwood play his first T20 game since featuring against India during the T20 World Cup in March 2016.

Adelaide Strikers performance in Big Bash League:

The Strikers would be keen to improve their fielding after dropping Josh Philippe, who later returned to haunt them, twice in the match. Cameron White first dropped Philippe on 26 and then Neser dropped him on 50 in the 16th over.

The Strikers were well into the game by that time, having posted a respected total of 176 on board.

Alex Carey reached his personal milestone, becoming just the 3rd player to score 1000 runs for the Strikers.

Sydney Sixers performance in Big Bash League:

Josh Philippe was the star in the last game, against Adelaide. However, he will have to be careful, given he was dropped twice on his innings of 83.

Meanwhile, Australian test paceman Josh Hazlewood made a successful return from injury.

Hazlewood, having missed the past two Tests against New Zealand with a hamstring injury, took 1-18 from his four overs.

Justin Avendano, who was deputising for regular Sixers captain Moises Henriques, hit his highest BBL score in his fourth game, striking sixes over midwicket off pacemen Peter Siddle and Billy Stanlake. He scored 47 off 33 to give Sixers a flying start and might get a chance again.

Henriques had missed the game to be with the side of his wife, who was expecting a child.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers Predicted line-up:

Strikers

Jake Weatherald, Phil Salt, Matt Short, Alex Carey (c/wk), Jon Wells, Cameron White, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Harry Conway, Billy Stanlake

Sixers

Josh Philippe (wk), Daniel Hughes (c), James Vince, Justin Avendano, Jordan Silk, Jack Edwards, Tom Curran, Ben Dwarshuis, Jackson Bird, Josh Hazlewood, Lloyd Pope

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the 3rd of the 7 games to be played at Adelaide Oval in Big Bash 2019-20.

In the first game at the venue, Adelaide Strikers defended 198in a rain affected game while the second game saw Sydney Thunder edge the Strikers by 3 runs after scoring 168.

Of the 7 games played at the venue last season, 5 were won by the team chasing the total.

169 was the average 1st innings score during the Big Bash 2018-19 and all the teams scored 150 plus runs on the scoreboard.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers: Today's Match Prediction

  1. The 177-run chase by Sydney Sixers was the joint 2nd highest chase in the Big Bash League against the Adelaide Strikers. Brisbane Heat chased down 186 in a last-ball thriller in 2012-13 season and also 177 in the 2018-19 edition.
  2. The Sydney Sixers has won each of their last three BBL matches against the Strikers; all the three coming while chasing a target. Before this 7-wicket win, the Sixers beat the Strikers by 6 wickets and 8 wickets respectively in the 2018-19 season matches at the Adelaide Oval and Sydney respectively.
  3. Josh Philippe now has recorded three 80+ scores in the Big Bash League; the most by any player for the Sydney Sixers. He also has the highest individual BBL score for the Sixers of 86* in the previous edition. His 83* against Strikers is now the 5th highest BBL score for the Sixers.
  4. Alex Carey is now one of the 34 players to have aggregated 1000 runs in the Big Bash League. He is only the 3rd player to have scored 1000 BBL runs for the Adelaide Strikers. Travis Head and Jake Weatherald have scored 1051 and 1047 runs respectively for the Strikers.
  5. Josh Hazlewood featured in a Big Bash League game for the first time in 5 years and 334 days. His last appearance came way back in February 2014. Only Nick Buchanan spent more than five years between his two BBL appearances.
  6. The last game between the sides saw 356 runs and 15 sixes.

Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 26th match of Big Bash 2019-20 will see bottom teams- Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers – lock horns on Tuesday.

The Renegades are yet to open their account while the Scorchers are 7th with 2 wins out of their six games.

Melbourne Renegades have lost six games in a row now and need to win almost every game to stay in contention to qualify for the semi-finals of Big Bash 2019-20. After the first couple of games, the batting hasn’t been up to the mark. They’ve often ended up with under-par totals and were not even able to chase 156 against the Adelaide Strikers.

Meanwhile, Perth Scorchers have blown hot and cold severely. They started with a loss but bounced back well before losing a couple on the bounce. They once again bounced back well, beating Brisbane Heat by a big margin. They lost to the Hobart Hurricanes and are languishing at the seventh place on the points table of the Big Bash League 2019-20. Perth haven’t chased well and that has affected them big time.

Perth Scorchers secured a marginal 11-run win over Melbourne Renegades when the two sides faced each other earlier this season.

Melbourne Renegades performance in Big Bash League:

The Melbourne Renegades batting has been under the scanner and it has been one of the reasons for their winless run so far. There have been promising signs but consistency has eluded the batsmen.

In fact, their last three scores batting first have been 147, 155/6 and 142/9. The bowling hasn’t been consistent either and with low totals to defend, they haven’t been able to make an impact either.

Shaun Marsh is the leading run-getter and has got starts in every game. He has 233 runs in six innings but has scored just one fifty and has failed to convert most of his starts.

Meanwhile, Aaron Finch has scored a couple of half-centuries but hasn’t looked at his best. Beau Webster has looked good and is batting well. In fact, he’s scoring at 140.47 and has 177 runs in the tournament.

Apart from the top four, there’s not been any significant contributions. The likes of Tom Cooper and Daniel Christian have had disappointing returns with the bat.

With the ball, the story is not too different. Most of them have struggled for consistency. Kane Richardson is leading the wicket charts and has picked up nine wickets in this season.

Cameron Boyce has taken five wickets from six games while the likes of Richard Gleeson and Richard Gleeson have blown hot and cold.

Perth Scorchers performance in Big Bash League:

The Perth Scorchers batting has been indifferent. Liam Livingstone and Josh Inglis have been inconsistent at the top of the order. Their strike-rates have been good but their scores have been up and down.

Meanwhile, Cameron Bancroft has scored a couple of the fifties but there’s been nothing significant apart from that. Mitchell Marsh is leading the run charts for the Scorchers. He has scored 193 runs at an average of 38.60 and is striking at 139.85.

Cameron Green has been a big disappointment in the middle-order.

With the ball, Chris Jordan and Fawad Ahmed have led the charge. They’ve picked up eight wickets each. While Ahmed has been economical, Jordan has been slightly expensive.

The likes of Ashton Agar and Jhye Richardson haven’t been at their best. In fact, Agar has been very disappointing with the bat and the ball, he’s been expensive and hasn’t picked wickets regularly.

Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers Predicted line-up:

Melbourne Renegades

Sam Harper (wk), Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Beau Webster, Tom Cooper, Daniel Christian, Will Sutherland, Cameron Boyce, Tom Andrews, Kane Richardson, Richard Gleeson

Perth Scorchers

Liam Livingstone, Josh Inglis (wk), Cameron Bancroft, Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green, Tim David, Ashton Agar, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Matthew Kelly, Fawad Ahmed

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be Melbourne Renegades’ second and last home game at Simonds Stadium during the 2019-20 Big Bash League season.

In the first game, Sydney Thunder registered a 6-wicket win with 2 balls remaining while chasing a target of 170.

Only one T20I has been played at the venue – between Australia and Sri Lanka. The game was won by the chasing team of the last. Sri Lanka chased the target of 174.

Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Mitchell Marsh is leading the run charts for the Scorchers. He has scored 193 runs at an average of 38.60 and is striking at 139.85.
  2. Kane Richardson is leading the wicket charts for Melbourne Renegades and 5th in the tournament. He has picked up nine wickets in this season.
  3. Shaun Marsh is the leading run-getter for Melbourne Renegades and 6th in the tournament. He has 233 runs in six innings but has scored just one fifty and has failed to convert most of his starts.
  4. 381 runs were scored including 4 half centuries when these two clashed earlier this season. 40 boundaries were hit in that game.
  5. Beau Webster scored 67* off just 37 balls against Perth Scorchers this season.
  6. Kane Richardson picked 4 wickets while giving away just 22 runs in his 4 overs against Perth Scorchers.
  7. Perth Scorchers have been dominating the head to head clashes against Melbourne Renegades with 9-2.

Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 25th match of Big Bash League 2019-20 will see Sydney Thunder host struggling Brisbane Heat at the Showground Stadium on Monday.

This match will be pivotal for not just these two teams but also the entire league as a Sydney Thunder win could create a big enough gap between the top and bottom halves of the points table.

Thunders are coming on the back of a 3-wicket loss against Melbourne Stars.

Brisbane Heat, on the other hand, are coming on the back of a resounding 31-run win over Hobart Hurricanes. After floundering against Perth Scorchers, Heat’s batters came to the party this time with Max Bryant and Chris Lynn playing at their explosive best.

Sydney Thunder performance in Big Bash League:

A number of batsmen have stood up for Sydney Thunder in different matches but Callum Ferguson has been the stand-out performer until now. The experienced batter has notched up 248 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 141.71. Even though the batters have to take the bulk of the responsibility, Thunder would also hope that the duo of Chris Morris and Daniel Sams find their touch with the bat soon enough.

With the ball though, the duo has been terrific to pick up a combined 20 wickets for their team until now. Given that Sams’s bowls with the new ball while Morris is invaluable during the death overs, the two have also provided apt options for skipper Callum Ferguson at different junctures of an inning.

Apart from these two, Arjun Nair and Chris Green have complemented the Pacers very well with their miserly economy rate.

Brisbane Heat performance in Big Bash League:

As usual, the success of Brisbane Heat depends heavily on their batting line-up. While Tom Banton has flattered to deceive after one scintillating knock, two other important cogs in the form of Max Bryant and Chris Lynn hit the right notes against Hobart Hurricanes.

The one player who surprised everyone with this T20 gameplay has been the southpaw Matt Renshaw. With 156 runs at a strike-rate of 136.84, Renshaw has combined consistency with quick-scoring while batting at No.4.

Bowling wise, the likes of Ben Laughlin, Zahir Khan, and Josh Lalor have all tended to depend on big scores. This is why Brisbane Heat will be worried about the team’s ability to be penetrative while bowling first or defending a low total.

If Australia releases Mitch Swepson from the Test squad, Heat’s bowling might look like a much better one.

Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat Predicted line-up:

Sydney Thunder

Alex Hales, Usman Khawaja, Callum Ferguson, Matthew Gilkes, Alex Ross, Chris Morris, Daniel Sams, Chris Green, Arjun Nair, Brendan Doggett, Nathan McAndrew

Brisbane Heat

Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw, Ben Cutting, Jimmy Peirson, Mark Steketee, Josh Lalor, Jack Prestwidge, Zahir Khan, Ben Laughlin

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the second off five games to be played at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney during Big Bash League 2019-20.

During the first game played at the venue, Melbourne Stars won the game by 3-wicket, chasing a target of 143.

All the five games played at the venue during last season were won by the team defending the total.

164 was the average first innings score in those 5 games.

Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Callum Ferguson has scored 248 runs in 6 innings at an average of 62 and is 3rd in the Big Bash League leading run-scorers chart.
  2. Chris Lynn has scored 211 runs in 5 innings at an average of 52.75 and is leading the batting chart for Brisbane Heat so far this season.
  3. Daniel Sams is leading the Big Bash 2019-20 bowling chart. He has picked 12 wickets in 6 innings at an average of 13.50.
  4. Chris Lynn has scored 15 sixes in 5 innings and is currently leading the maximum’s chart, Mitchell Marsh is 2nd with 10 sixes in 6 games.
  5. Brisbane Heat have been dominating the head to head clashes between the two teams with 7-2.

Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

It’s the Melbourne derby of the Big Bash 2019-20 and the two teams – Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades find themselves at different ends of the spectrum as far as the points table is concerned. They’ve had very contrasting times in this tournament.

While the Stars are soaring high and are sitting at the top of the Big Bash League table, the Renegades are yet to get off the mark and are placed last.

Melbourne Stars started the season with a couple of convincing wins before they lost a close game against Adelaide Strikers (by four runs). They are back to winning ways and have won two games on the bounce once again. They won by four runs against Hobart Hurricanes in a game that was decided via the Duckworth-Lewis method. Meanwhile, they held their nerve to eke out a tight three-wicket win (with two balls to spare) over Sydney Thunder.

Melbourne Renegades have played five and lost five. They’ve lost a couple of really tight games as well and just haven’t been able to close out games. They have lost three games batting first but all of those went into the final over. Meanwhile, in the other two games, the Renegades failed in chases of 197 and 156.

Melbourne Stars performance in Big Bash League:

Melbourne Stars have found different players stepping up in different games. Be it with bat or ball, some or another player has come to the fore to drive the Stars home.

Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and Nick Larkin have done it with the bat while Haris Rauf, Dale Steyn, Adam Zampa and the others have done it with the ball. Stoinis is leading the run charts for the Stars this season. He has scored 213 runs in five innings which includes a couple of half-centuries.

Maxwell lit up the first game of the season while Larkin made a mark in the last game against Sydney Thunder. The likes of Peter Handscomb and Ben Dunk haven’t quite got going.

With the ball, it’s been about Haris Rauf for a big part. The Pakistan fast bowler has picked up 10 wickets in three games and has an excellent economy as well.

Adam Zampa has chipped in very nicely and has taken seven wickets. The other senior fast bowlers like Nathan Coulter-Nile and Steyn have played their part as well.

Melbourne Renegades performance in Big Bash League:

The Melbourne Renegades batting has been decent so far but they’ve been inconsistent. The effort just hasn’t been good enough.

Skipper Aaron Finch has led the way with a couple of fifties and also has a good strike-rate. He has scored 166 runs at an average of 33.20 and a strike-rate of 139.49.

Meanwhile, Shaun Marsh has made 30+ in four out of his five innings so far and is the leading run-getter for the Renegades.

Beau Webster has been good in the middle order and has made 148 runs at a strike-rate of 146.53. The likes of Marcus Harris and Daniel Christian haven’t been up to the mark with the bat.

In fact, Christian has been disappointing with the ball as well. Only Kane Richardson and Cameron Boyce have picked up a substantial number of wickets in this BBL

Richardson has taken eight wickets while Boyce has five to his name. Moreover, they are also the most economical bowlers for the Renegades. It’s the bowling that needs to step up.

Melbourne Stars vs Melbourne Renegades Predicted line-up:

Melbourne Stars

Marcus Stoinis, Nic Maddinson, Nick Larkin, Peter Handscomb (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dunk, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Clint Hinchliffe, Adam Zampa, Dale Steyn, Haris Rauf

Melbourne Renegades

Sam Harper (wk), Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Marcus Harris, Beau Webster, Daniel Christian, Will Sutherland, Cameron Boyce, Tom Andrews, Kane Richardson, Richard Gleeson

Sylhet Thunder vs Rangpur Rangers: BPL 2019 Match Prediction

The 32nd match of the BPL 2019-20 season will be played between bottom placed Sylhet Thunder and 2nd last Rangpur Rangers.

After winning two back to back games, Rangpur Rangers were defeated by Rajshahi Royals by 30 runs in their last outing. Rangers have won just two of the nine games this season and are sixth in the BPL 2019-20 points table.

Sylhet Thunder, on the other hand, have won just one of their nine games and lost their last match in Super Over against Cumilla Warriors.

It will be the second meeting of the teams in BPL 2019-20, Rangpur Rangers secured a comfortable 7-wicket win in the first meeting.

Sylhet Thunder performance in BPL 2019:

Sylhet Thunder came agonisingly close to pulling off a shock victory over Cumilla Warriors but in what would have been just their second win of this year’s competition, they succumbed to defeat in a Super Over.

Some strong bowling efforts saw Thunder restrict the Warriors to 140/9 with Sherfane Rutherford the pick as the youngster ended with superb figures of 3-19 from this four-over spell.

Having recovered from 5/2 and 33/5, Sylhet scored a run with the final delivery of their innings to tie the scores and force the Super Over but could only muster seven runs which Cumilla surpassed with a ball to spare.

Rangpur Rangers performance in BPL 2019:

Rangpur Rangers were unable to make it three wins in a row as they fell to a defeat against Rajshahi Royals which makes it very difficult for them to qualify for the play-offs and they will need to win-out from this point as well as hoping other results go their way.

Rangers struggled with the ball without the presence of Andre Russell and failed to deal with the danger men for the Royals as Ravi Bopara ended up unbeaten on 50 which contributed to a score of 179/4.

That proved too much to chase down with Rangers getting off to a poor start after skipper Shane Watson fell for just two and with the loss of constant wickets affecting them, they could not muster the runs quickly enough as they suffered a 30-run loss.

Sylhet Thunder vs Rangpur Rangers Predicted line-up

Rangpur Rangers

Mohammad Naim, Shane Watson, Cameron Delport, Tom Abell, Fazle Mahmud, Mohammad Nabi, Al-Amin, Jahurul Islam (wk), Arafat Sunny, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed

Sylhet Thunder

Andre Fletcher, Johnson Charles, Mohammad Mithun (wk), Rony Talukdar, Sherfane Rutherford, Nazmul Hossain Milon, Sohag Gazi, Nayeem Hasan, Monir Hossain, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ebadot Hossain

Pitch Report for today's BPL:

10 T20I matches have been played at the venue and only 2 of them has been won by the team batting first while 7 times the team chasing the total have emerged winner.

Off the two games played at the venue on Thursday, Rajshahi Royals won the first game by 30 runs, defending a total of 179 while the second game ended with a Super Over after both teams score 140 runs each in their respective 20 overs.

Off the 8 games played at the venue during 2018-19 season, team batting first won 4 times while the team chasing the total won the remaining 4 games.

Sylhet Thunder vs Rangpur Rangers: Today's Match Predictions

  1. 267 runs were scored when both sides met each other earlier this season and only 30 boundaries were hit in that game.
  2. Cameron Delport scored 63 runs off just 28 balls at a strike rate of 225 against Sylhet Thunder. His inning included 6 fours and 5 maximums.
  3. Mohammad Mithun scored 62 runs against Rangpur Rangers earlier this season.
  4. Mustafizur Rahman picket three wickets and gave just 10 runs in his 4 overs against Sylhet Thunder. He has picked 14 wickets in his 9 innings so far, level with Mehedi Hasan Rana at the top of BPL 2019-20 bowling chart.
  5. Mohammad Naim scored 38* against Sylhet Thunder and has accumulated 296 runs in his 9 innings in BPL 2019-20 at an average of 37, second highest run getter to the tournament so far.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat: Big Bash League (BBL) Predictions

The 21st match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will be played between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat on Friday.

Both teams Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat are lying in the bottom half of the points table. While the Hurricanes are placed fifth with four points (two losses and two wins), the Heat have just won one game and is second from the bottom with two points. Hobart Hurricanes have had a very start-stop sort of a tournament so far.

The Hurricanes have won one and lost one alternately. After defending 129 in the opening game, they failed to chase down 164 against the Melbourne Stars before they chased 148 against Melbourne Renegades to register their second win of the season. However, in the return fixture against the Melbourne Stars, the rain had the last laugh and also, dented the Hobart Hurricanes as a stop-start game meant they never got any momentum going. They eventually lost by four runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Meanwhile, Brisbane Heat have lost three out of their four games and all of them have been while chasing. Despite boasting of a strong batting line-up, the Heat has failed to challenge the opposition batting second. Their only win came on the back of a Chris Lynn blitz which helped them score 209 batting first. Thus, they need to pull up their socks as things are starting to heat up in the tournament.

Hobart Hurricanes performance in Big Bash League:

The batting hasn’t really stood up for the Hobart Hurricanes so far in this tournament. It hasn’t helped either that they’ve played on slightly sluggish tracks but the batting has been far from convincing.

Barring D’Arcy Short, none of the other batsmen have put in significant contributions. Short is the only Hobart batsman who has made more than 100 runs in the tournament. He has scored 120 runs which include a couple of half-centuries.

The likes of Ben McDermott, David Miller and George Bailey have failed to step up. While the Hobart skipper has 88 runs from four innings, Bailey has barely played two innings and Miller has scored just 48 runs from four innings.

On the other hand, the bowling has been very good. Qais Ahmad, Riley Meredith, and James Faulkner are leading the wicket charts for the team. While the Afghan leg-spinner has taken six wickets in this BBL, Meredith and Faulkner have shared 15 wickets between them and both of them have an economy under 6.

Brisbane Heat performance in Big Bash League:

The Brisbane Heat have a gun batting line-up and they seem very strong on paper as well. In four games, there have been three different players who have made a half-century but there has been absolutely no consistency from the batsmen. None of them have even got proper starts in the other games and they’ve failed as a batting unit.

Tom Banton, Chris Lynn, and Matt Renshaw have got the fifties but have struggled to show consistency. Max Bryant has been poor at the top of the order and has had four successive failures. He may get a couple more chances to prove himself else it may not be long before he is replaced.

The others in the middle like Sam Heazlett, Ben Cutting and wicket-keeper bat Jimmy Peirson haven’t contributed enough either.

Mitchell Swepson and Zahir Khan have taken nine wickets together. However, the former is with the Australian Test team and won’t be a part of this game.

The bowling attack has done decently. The spinners have done quite a bit of talking. Josh Lalor and Ben Laughlin have been slightly expensive but have taken five and four wickets respectively.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat Predicted line-up:

Hobart Hurricanes

D’Arcy Short, Caleb Jewell, Ben McDermott (wk), David Miller, George Bailey, Simon Milenko, James Faulkner, Nathan Ellis, Clive Rose, Qais Ahmad, Riley Meredith

Brisbane Heat

Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw, Sam Heazlett, Ben Cutting, Jimmy Peirson (wk), Mark Steketee, Josh Lalor, Ben Laughlin, Zahir Khan

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the second of four games to be played at Bellerive Oval, Hobart during the Big Bash League 2019-20 season.

Hobart Hurricanes won the first game at the venue this season by 7 wickets while chasing a target of mere 148.

3 T20I have played at the venue and the teams setting up the target have won two of them. 182 is the 1st inning average score while 2nd inning’s average score is 167.

213 is the highest score recorded at the venue while 179 is the lowest target defended.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Hobart Hurricanes have been dominating the head to head clash and have won 10 of the 14. They have won all 4 clashes in the past two year.
  2. Ben Cutting need just 10 more runs to complete 1100 runs for Brisbane Heat. He is the franchise’s 2nd all-time highest run getter and leading wicket taker (57).
  3. Josh Lalor need 2 more wickets to overtake Mitch Swepson to become Brisbane Heat’s 3rd all-time leading wicket –taker.
  4. Tim Paine needs 1 more run to complete his 1200 runs for Hobart Hurricanes.
  5. Ben Laughlin (39) need 4 more wickets to level with Cameron Boyce for Hobart Hurricanes all-time leading wicket-taker.

Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 29th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will see 4th placed Sydney Sixers take on defending champions Melbourne Renegades on Thursday.

Host Melbourne Renegades will be desperate to break their winless streak when they take on Sydney Sixers in the 20th match of 2019-20 Big Bash League at Docklands Stadium in Melbourne on Thursday.

Aaron Finch-led unit will be looking to make changes to their playing XI for this home fixture. The batsmen will need to show more responsibility in order for defending champions Melbourne Renegades to end their losing streak in the competition.

On the other hand, Sydney Sixers managed to edge out Sydney Thunder via Super over. With this result, Sixers are currently lying in third position with 6 points to their name. Captain Moises Henriques will be hoping that the side can continue their winning streak in this contest.

Melbourne Renegades performance in Big Bash League:

Defending Champions Melbourne Renegades have now lost four matches in a row and will be keen to deliver a clinical performance against Sydney Sixers. The franchise is currently lying at the bottom of the league table and will be determined to do well in this fixture.

Wicket-keeper Sam Harper and Shaun Marsh failed to capitalize on their good starts in the last game.

Aaron Finch played well and scored 50 runs off 39 balls with the help of one four and one six. He is currently franchise’s leading run-scorer so far in this year’s competition with 157 runs at an average of 39.25.

Marcus Harris, Beau Webster, and Daniel Christian will be looking to deliver crucial scores for the side in this contest. In the previous game, Beau Webster fought valiantly and scored 37 runs off 26 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.

In the bowling department, the side will be relying on the likes of Richard Gleeson, Kane Richardson, and Harry Gurney to provide crucial breakthroughs in this contest. Pacer Kane Richardson bowled well and claimed figures of 4 for 33 in his four overs.

Cameron Boyce also delivered a tidy spell and produced figures of 2 for 18 in his four overs.

Sydney Sixers performance in Big Bash League:

Sixers will be looking to claim the top spot in the league table against Melbourne Renegades, who have yet to open their account in the competition.

Tom Curran delivered a fantastic performance with bat and ball to help Sydney Sixers beat Sydney Thunder via Super-over in their last game.

Josh Phillipe and Hayden Kerr perished for low scores before Daniel Hughes and Moises Henriques led the fightback with a decent partnership.

It was largely due to Tom Curran’s late blitz that saw Sixers equal the scores and takes the game into Super over Eliminator. Tom Curran produced a quick-fire 35 off 17 balls with the help of five fours and one six.

Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars Predicted line-up:

Melbourne Renegades

Aaron Finch, Sam Harper (wk), Shaun Marsh, Marcus Harris, Beau Webster, Daniel Christian, Will Sutherland, Kane Richardson, Harry Gurney, Cameron Boyce, Richard Gleeson

Sydney Sixers

Josh Philippe (wk), Hayden Kerr, Daniel Hughes, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Jack Edwards, Tom Curran, Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott, Jackson Bird, Lloyd Pope

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the second of the five Big Bash League 2019-20 season to be played at Docklands Stadium, Melbourne.

Adelaide Strikers defended a total of 155 against Melbourne Renegades and won the match by 18 runs in the first match played at the venue this season.

Off the 7 games played at the venue during Big Bash League 2018-19, 4 were won by the team batting first and 3 were won by the team chasing the total.

Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 19th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will be played between Big Bash 2019-20 table leader’s Sydney Thunder and 3rd placed Melbourne Stars.

Both Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars are performing well this season and have registered consistent wins. Melbourne Stars lost their only match by a close margin of 4 runs against Adelaide Strikers while Sydney Thunder’s only loss came in the super over tie against the Sydney Sixers. Both teams are vying for the top spot in the points table and a win in this match will take them to the top.

Sydney Thunder’s performance in Big Bash League:

Sydney Thunder came out victorious in a tight finish against Adelaide Strikers in their last game by 4 runs. Usman Khawaja and Callum Ferguson scored fifties to take their team to a competitive total of 168 runs. Their batting unit has scored runs over 160 consistently this season.

Callum Ferguson was the aggressor in the previous match scoring 73 runs off 43 balls and build a vital partnership with Usman Khawaja. Ferguson has 3 fifties in the four matches so far.

Arjun Nair and Daniel Sams were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each and controlled the run flow in the crucial middle phase.

Chris Morris held his nerve in the final overs of the tense match to seal the match in his team`s favor. Their bowling unit has never allowed the opposition to chase down the total so far.

Arjun Nair has taken 6 wickets so far this season and has never conceded runs at over 8 RPO in any match. He will be a vital member of their bowling unit in middle overs.

Melbourne Stars performance in Big Bash League:

Melbourne Stars were lucky enough to finish on the winning side in the rain-curtailed shoot-out match last night. Skipper Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are their batting mainstays and have both scored 80+ runs to lead the team to victory in one game each this season.

Peter Handscomb and Nic Maddinson have come up with crucial runs to build partnerships so far.

Marcus Stoinis has scores of 25, 34 & 81 in the last three matches respectively. He is the leading run-score for their team and strangely he is yet to bowl in this season’s BBL.

Legendary bowler Dale Steyn is looking at his best this year and will look to contribute to the team effectively. Daniel Worell and Nathan Coulter Nile have chipped in with effective overs and crucial wickets whenever the team needed.

The combination of Sandeep Lamichchame and Adam Zampa will make their spin bowling attack arguably the best in the BBL.

Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars Predicted line-up:

Sydney Thunder

Usman Khawaja, Alex Hales, Callum Ferguson, Alex Ross, Chris Morris, Daniel Sams, Chris Green, Matthew Gilkes (wk), Nathan McAndrew, Arjun Nair, Jonathan Cook

Melbourne Stars

Nic Maddinson, Marcus Stoinis, Nick Larkin, Peter Handscomb (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dunk, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Zampa, Daniel Worrall, Dale Steyn, Sandeep Lamichhane

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 17th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will see table leaders Adelaide Strikers host 3rd placed Sydney Thunder on Tuesday.

Adelaide Strikers have won their last three matches in a row and are looking to continue their momentum going ahead in the league stages.

Sydney Thunder, too, are coming with good performances this season winning two out of three matches and their loss against Sydney Sixers came in a close super over encounter in the last match.

It will be their second meeting of the season after the first ended in no result due to poor air quality and smog. Both teams will look to win this match and further go ahead in the points table.

Adelaide Strikers performance in Big Bash League:

The Strikers completed their hat-trick of wins in the last match after defeating Melbourne Renegades by 18 runs. Opener Philip Salt smashed an aggressive 26-ball 54 runs at the top. Alex Carey and Jonathan Wells came up with vital contributions but were not able to force the scoring rate. A useful 16-ball 25 from Rashid took Striker’s final score to 155 at the end of 20 overs.

Alex Carry has scores of 55, 45 & 41 in the last three matches and he is becoming a contender for the wicket-keeper slot for the team in the upcoming World Cup. He will look to continue his form with the bat and help his team post big scores.

Rashid Khan then returned to take 2 vital wickets and a run-out of Aaron Finch to derail the chase. Wes Agar and Cameron Valente came up with 2 wickets each to keep the scoring on a check. Experienced Aussie quick’s Peter Siddle and Billy Stanlake share the pace bowling duties of the team.

Sydney Thunder performance in Big Bash League:

Sydney Thunder lost the last match in one of the close encounters after losing by 1 run in a super over tie. Usman Khawaja (16 runs) and Alex Hales (32 runs) gave a good 48-run opening partnership inside the powerplay. Skipper Callum Ferguson built on the start to score his second fifty this season. Their lower order failed to finish the innings with a flourish as they ended up with just 149 runs on board.

Hales looked good for his 32 runs off 21 balls with 5 boundaries and a six. He has scored runs at a strike rate of over 150+ in the last two matches.

Their spin trio of Jonathan Cook, Chris Green, and Arjun Nair bowled with good control and had combined figures of 8-0-50-2 in the match against Sydney Sixers. Daniel Sams and Chris Morris bowled well-taking wickets at regular intervals and helped their win crucial moments. Chris Tremain has been expensive in the last couple of matches and may be dropped in this match.

In the first game at the venue, Adelaide Strikers defended their 198/4 total and won by 15 runs. It was affected by rain and the game was reduced to 18 overs per side.

Of the 7 games played at the venue, 5 were won by the team chasing the total.

169 was the average 1st innings score during the Big Bash League 2018-19 and all the teams scored 150 plus runs on the scoreboard.

Big Bash League Predictions 2019: Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars

December 30, 2019

Aurora Stadium, Launceston

The 16th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will be played between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars on Monday.

After a positive kick off to the Big Bash League season with two straight wins, Melbourne Stars fell 4 runs short of Adelaide Strikers score in their last game. The Stars are currently fourth in the point table and will be hoping to return to the winning ways.

Hobart Hurricanes have also won two of the three games they have played in the Big Bash League 2019-20 and are at fifth in the points table, behind the Stars because of poor net run rate.

Melbourne Stars performance in Big Bash League:

Hilton Cartwright has not been performing at number three and could may be used a bit lower down the order. Ben Dunk has a history of scoring runs up the order and could be better served there.

With Nic Maddinson struggling, Peter Handscomb just getting into his stride, and Ben Dunk not getting enough opportunities, there seems to be an over-reliance on Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell for the runs.

The Melbourne Stars added Dale Steyn and Nathan Coulter-Nile to their side to strengthen their bowling. They already have Sandeep Lamichhane, Adam Zampa, and Daniel Worrall to provide them plenty of quality.

Hobart Hurricanes performance in Big Bash League:

The Hobart Hurricanes won an important match against the Melbourne Renegades thanks to some runs from their main batsmen. Darcy Short resumed his prolific run-scoring while Ben McDermott and David Miller also got in the action.

The Hobart Hurricanes depend heavily on runs from Darcy Short and would like him to stay in good form for as long as possible. Short likes the ball coming on to the bat and tends to struggle when there is some help for the spinners.

Short, Milenko, Jewell, and McDermott could all struggle in such a situation.

The Hurricanes added George Bailey to the side and have a decent amount of depth in their side with the combination they last played.

The Hobart Hurricanes have a very good bowling attack and can pose some serious questions for the Melbourne Stars. Clive Rose and Qais Ahmed will take up the spin-bowling duties while Nathan Ellis, Rilee Meredith, and James Faulkner provide compelling seam bowling options.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars Predicted line-up:

Melbourne Stars

Nic Maddinson, Marcus Stoinis, Ben Dunk, Peter Handscomb (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Zampa, Daniel Worrall, Dale Steyn, Sandeep Lamichhane

Hobart Hurricanes

Simon Milenko, D’Arcy Short, Caleb Jewell, Ben McDermott (wk), David Miller, George Bailey, James Faulkner, Nathan Ellis, Clive Rose, Qais Ahmad, Riley Meredith

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the first of the two games of Big Bash League 2019-20 to be played at Aurora Stadium, Launceston.

Two games were played at the venue in Big Bash League 2018-19 and both were won by the team chasing the total.

138 was the average first innings score at the venue in last season.

No T20I has been played at the venue so far.

Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

Bottom placed Melbourne Renegades will host Adelaide Strikers on Sunday in the 15th match of Big Bash 2019-20.

Defending champions Melbourne Renegades are yet to collect a point in the Big Bash League 2019-20 after three games. They are coming off a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Hobart Hurricanes and will be keen to get their first win of the season against Adelaide Strikers.

Adelaide Strikers, on the other hand, are at second with two wins and a no result in the Big Bash League 2019-20 points table. The Strikers held their nerves and secured a narrow 4-run win over Melbourne Stars in their last game. The Strikers will hope to put a more dominate performance against the struggling Renegades.

Melbourne Renegades performance in Big Bash League:

Sam Harper seems like a slogger at this point and the chances of him succeeding are always slim. All of the other frontline batsmen for the Renegades got starts in the previous match. Aaron Finch got 50, Shaun Marsh 37, and Marcus Harris 37, but all of their strike rates were under 135.

Kane Richardson is the lone bowler who is performing for the Renegades right now and this problem is getting harder to fix. Richard Gleeson and Harry Gurney are struggling in the BBL and we think it is time for a change. We have a feeling that Gleeson is not going to be playing the next match for the Melbourne Renegades.

Beau Webster and Cameron Boyce also need to get their act together for the Renegades bowling to be more effective.

Melbourne Renegades predicted XI: Sam Harper (wk), Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Marcus Harris, Beau Webster, Daniel Christian, Tom Cooper, Cameron Boyce, Kane Richardson, Harry Gurney, Richard Gleeson.

Adelaide Strikers performance in Big Bash League:

Jonathan Wells continued his brilliant form in Big Bash League 2019-20 as he made the most of a sloppy fielding effort from the Melbourne Stars. He scored 68 not out to help the Adelaide Striker reach 174, a total that proved to be enough by 4 runs in the end.

Alex Carey provided the support that Jonathan Wells needed in the middle as the other Adelaide batsmen failed to deliver.

Jake Weatherald started like a runaway train but threw away his wicket after smashing four boundaries in the first six balls he faced. Philip Salt has not made an impact on the Big Bash League 2019-20 until now and Matthew Short has struggled at number three also.

Rashid Khan has been very good in the matches he has played so far and is well supported by the other bowlers as well. Billy Stanlake would have liked more wickets to his name but his extra pace is always testing. Peter Siddle kept his nerve and picked up three crucial wickets to win the Adelaide Strikers in the previous match.

Adelaide Strikers expected XI: Jake Weatherald, Philip Salt, Matthew Short, Alex Carey (wk), Jonathan Wells, Cameron White, Cameron Valente, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Wes Agar, Billy Stanlake.

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

It will be the first of the five Big Bash League 2019-20 season to be played at Docklands Stadium, Melbourne.

Off the 7 games played at the venue during Big Bash League 2018-19, 4 were won by the team batting first and 3 were won by the team chasing the total.

138 was the average 1st inning score at the venue during Big Bash League 2018-19.

No T20I has been played at the venue so far.

Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Shaun Marsh has scored 134 runs in his 3 innings in Big Bash League 2019-20 and is currently the tournament’s leading run scorer.
  2. Jake Weatherald has scored 125 runs in his 2 innings and is just 9 runs short off highest run scorer Shaun Marsh in the leading run scorers list.
  3. Jonathan Wells scored 68* off 46 balls against Melbourne Stars. He has scored 73 runs in his 2 innings so far this season.
  4. Peter Siddle joined the Strikers squad after getting dropped from Australia’s test 13-man squad against New Zealand and picked three wickets against Melbourne Stars in his 1st game of the tournament this season.
  5. Melbourne Renegades skipper Aaron Finch scored a half century against Hobart Hurricanes. He scored 107 runs in his 3 innings and is currently 7th in the batting charts.

Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 14th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 season will see Sydney Sixers lock horns with Sydney Thunder.

Sydney Thunder got off to a great start in BBL 2019-20. They have won back to back two games while one game was abandoned. They were in a good position to win their previous game against Adelaide Strikers before the match was called off due to poor air quality in Canberra.

Meanwhile, Sydney Sixers are 4th in the points table with two wins and as many defeats. However, they are coming off a thumping 48-run win over Perth Scorchers and will hope to continue their winning momentum.

Sydney Sixers performance in Big Bash League:

Sixers have opted for two changes in their side from the 13-man squad that defeated Perth Scorchers in the previous match. They have picked veteran spinner Steve O’Keefe and pace bowler Henry Thornton replacing Hayden Kerr and Mickey Edwards.

Sydney Sixers’ bowling has done a convincing job so far in the tournament and the same is expected when they will lock horns with Sydney Thunders.

Sydney Thunder’s performance in Big Bash League:

Sydney Thunder have made only one change from the squad that locked horns with Adelaide Strikers as they have picked Brendon Doggett, the right-arm fast bowler as a replacement for Nathan McAndrew.

However, all eyes will be on Chris Morris, who was recently bought by RCB in IPL 2020 auction at a whopping fee of 10 Cr. He would be eager to show his caliber in the upcoming game with a brilliant display of his all-round performances.

Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder Predicted Line-up:

Sydney Sixers

Daniel Hughes, Josh Philippe (wk), James Vince, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Tom Curran, Steve O’Keefe, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Lloyd Pope, Jackson Bird.

Sydney Thunder

Usman Khawaja, Alex Hales, Callum Ferguson, Matthew Gilkes, Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Chris Morris, Chris Green, Arjun Nair, Chris Tremain, Jonathan Cook.

Pitch Report for today's BBL:

The track at Sydney Cricket ground is quite hard and is expected to go in favour of the batsmen. So far the fast bowlers have not got any extra bounce from the wicket and that is making it quite easy for the batsmen to smash the Pacers all across the park.

7 T20Is have been played at the venue and the team chasing the total have won four times while the team batting first have won it twice, 1 match ended in no result.

156 is the average 1st inning score while 134 is average score of team batting 2nd.

221/5 is the highest total recorded in an international game while 200/3 is the highest scores chased.

Off the two played in the Big Bash League 2019-20, each team batting first and chasing the total have won.

Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Josh Philippe has scored 120 runs in three games and is currently 4th in the highest run scorers’ chart, just 14 behind leader Shaun Marsh.
  2. Daniel Sams and Sean Abbott has picked 6 wickets each in Big Bash League 2019-20 so far, 1 less than bowling chart leaders Riley Meredith and Haris Rauf.
  3. All the three batsmen of Sydney Thunder have played a fifty plus inning in the Big Bash 2019-20 in just 3 games, despite 1 of them ending in no result.
  4. Tom Curran scored 43* runs off 21 balls and picked a wicket in his 3 overs against Perth Scorchers. He is 10th in the bowling chart but just 2 wickets less than leaders Riley Meredith and Haris Rauf.
  5. Even though Chris Jordan has picked only 4 wickets in 3 games so far, three of them came in Sydney Sixers win over Perth Scorchers and is expected to pick more against Sydney Thunder.

Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers: BBL 2019 Match Prediction

The 12th match of Big Bash League 2019-20 (BBL 2019-20) will see Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers lock horns on Thursday.

5th placed Sydney Sixers have won just one game in the Big Bash League 2019-20 and that too against Perth Scorchers in their season opener. The Sixers have lost two games since then and are coming on the back of a 48-run loss, suffered at the hands of Brisbane Heat.

Perth Scorchers too have won just 1 of the 3 games played in Big Bash League 2019-20 season and are placed 7th due to poor net run rate. The Scorchers were 15 runs short while chasing a target of 199 in 18 overs, reduced due to rain, against Adelaide Strikers.

The Strikers will be keen to avenge their season opener defeat while Sydney Sixers will hope to find their form back when they face each other in the 1st match after Christmas.

Perth Scorchers performance in Big Bash League:

Josh Inglis and Liam Livingstone provided a quick start to the Scorchers against Adelaide Strikers. The duo scored half centuries and added 124 runs in 8.4 overs. However, a failed middle order meant they fell 15 short of the win against the Strikers.

Skipper Mitchell Marsh will hope to have an improved performance against the Sixers. He scored 32 runs when the two teams met each other in the 2nd match of the Big Bash League 2019-20.

Jhye Richardson was in impressive form with his bowling spell against Adelaide Strikers. He picked 2 wickets and gave just 29 runs in his 4 overs despite the team conceding 198 runs in 18 overs.

Chris Jordan would hope do some better after Christmas as he conceded 48 runs in his 4 overs against Adelaide Strikers.

Sydney Sixers performance in Big Bash League:

The Sixers would be hoping to forget their poor performance against Brisbane Heat and for a clean start after Christmas.

James Vince settled well against Brisbane Heat but failed to produce a big inning and was caught when he was on 39 while the Sixers were chasing a target of 210.

Skipper Moises Henriques, similarly, threw away his wicket after scoring 20 runs against the Heat.

The Sixers used only five bowlers against Brisbane Heat and only Lloyd Pope conceded runs less than an economy of 9. He leaked 33 runs in his 4 overs without picking a wicket.

Sean Abbott, even though, picked two wickets but would hope to keen his line and length tight along with Ben Dwarshuis, who picked 2 wickets while against the Scorchers.

Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers Predicted line-up:

Perth Scorchers

Liam Livingstone, Josh Inglis (wk), Cameron Bancroft, Ashton Turner, Mitchell Marsh (c), Cameron Green, Ashton Agar, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Joel Paris, Fawad Ahmed

Sydney Sixers

Josh Philippe (wk), Daniel Hughes, James Vince, Moises Henriques , Jordan Silk, Tom Curran, Hayden Kerr, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Lloyd Pope, Ben Manenti

Pitch Report for today's Big Bash League (BBL):

7 games were played at the Perth Stadium during the 2018-19 Big Bash League season. 5 of them were won by the team chasing the total while other 2 were won by the team batting 1st.

Only 1 T20I has been played at the venue, won by Australia against Pakistan while batting 2nd

157 was the average 1st inning score during the 2018-19 Big Bash League season.

It will be the 2nd game of the Big Bash League 2019-20 to be played at the venue. Perth Scorchers won the first game by 11 runs, defending the total of 196 against Melbourne Renegades.

Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Sean Abbott has picked 6 wickets in Sydney Sixers’ three games so far.
  2. Josh Philippe scored 81* off just 44 balls when Sydney Sixers faced Perth Scorchers earlier this season.
  3. Liam Livingstone scored 69 runs off 26 balls against Adelaide Strikers. His inning included 5 fours and 7 maximums.
  4. Josh Inglis scored 50 runs at a strike rate of 185.19 against Adelaide Strikers. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his inning.

Hobart Hurricanes will welcome defending champions Melbourne Renegades in their first home game of the Big Bash League 2019-20 on Tuesday. It will be the 11th game of BBL 2019-20.

After a successful start to this year’s campaign against Sydney Sixers, Hobart Hurricanes suffered a humiliating 52 runs defeat at the hands of Melbourne Stars. The Hurricanes will be keen to bounce back to the winning ways.

Last year’s Big Bash top scorer D’Arcy Short would hope to contribute more along with Caleb Jewell for the Hurricanes. David Miller has been a flop show so far but is likely to continue in the playing XI because of his destructive persona.

George Bailey is likely to return to playing XI to provide more depth in the batting. James Faulkner is likely to come in ahead of Thomas Rogers in his the all-rounder role.

Qais Ahmad, Clive Rose and Nathan Ellis are likely to lead the Hurricanes bowling attack.

Melbourne Renegades performance in Big Bash League:

Skipper Aaron Finch and new signing Shaun Marsh provided a quick start to Melbourne Renegades against Perth Scorchers and Beau Webster’s quick fifty kept them in the chase before they scattered and fell short by 11 runs.

Finch scored 28 runs of 15 balls while Marsh played a well managed 55 runs inning. Webster scored 67* runs off just 37 balls.

The Renegades will hope much more from all-rounders Daniel Christian and Jack Wildermuth – both returned to the pavilion without scoring a run. Meanwhile, Wildermuth leaked 37 runs in his four overs.

Kane Richardson picked four wickets and gave just 22 runs in his 4 overs despite the Renegades conceding 196 runs. He will hope to continue his momentum.
