Tottenham vs Liverpool: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

English Premier League leaders Liverpool travel to London to face Tottenham as they look to increase their lead on the top of the EPL 2019-20 table.

Tottenham have been poor of late, winning just one of their last five matches in all competitions. They had to come from behind to rescue their FA Cup tie at Middlesbrough and their recent record against Liverpool is thoroughly underwhelming.

The Reds, meanwhile, are unbeaten in 37 league matches and have won 11 of their last 12 in all competitions, with the sole blip on the record coming in their Carabao Cup defeat at Aston Villa. Having kept a clean sheet in their last five league matches, Liverpool have the means to shut out a Tottenham side without star striker Harry Kane.

Spurs may have lost only two home league matches this season, but a rampant Liverpool side are backed to come away with all three points.

Tottenham’s performance in EPL 2019:

Moussa Sissoko has been ruled out until April following knee surgery and joins Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies and Tanguy Ndombele on the sidelines.

Jan Vertonghen could start at left-back here should Jose Mourinho elect to revert to a 4-2-3-1 system, though Ryan Sessegnon is an option for the Spurs boss. Danny Rose is also hopeful of coming into contention of facing the league leaders.

Erik Lamela is in contention for a first start since October with Son Heung-Min set to start in attack.

Liverpool’s performance in EPL 2019:

Nathaniel Clyne, Fabinho, James Milner and Naby Keita all miss the trip to Tottenham.

Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Xherdan Shaqiri are all closing in on returns to fitness, but the trip to north London is likely to come too soon for the trio.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to start in midfield, though Adam Lallana is an option for Jurgen Klopp.

Tottenham vs Liverpool Line up:

Tottenham

Paulo Gazzaniga; Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Serge Aurier; Eric Dier, Harry Winks; Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, Erik Lamela; Son Heung-Min.

Liverpool

Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.

Tottenham vs Liverpool: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Liverpool are undefeated in their last 37 PL matches.
  2. Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in their last 5 EPL 2019-20 matches.
  3. Liverpool have scored at least 2 goals in 11 of their last 13 away matches in EPL 2019-20.
  4. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of Liverpool’s last 10 away games in EPL.
  5. Spurs have won just one of their last 14 PL meetings with Liverpool, winning 4-1 at Wembley in October 2017.
  6. Spurs have won 6 of their last 10 EPL home games against sides starting the day top of the table, though they have lost their last 2.
  7. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 8 PL games in London.
  8. Only Norwich have kept as few PL clean sheets as Spurs this season-2.
  9. Liverpool have scored in 29 consecutive matches. The last team to have a longer run in the EPL was Man Utd – 36 in Nov 2008.

Arsenal vs Man United: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

Arsenal will be hoping that 2020 treats them better than 2019 when they host Man United at the Emirates Stadium on New Year’s Day.

The Gunners ended the year on a run of just one win in their last 15 games across all competitions, culminating in a dramatic late collapse to lose to Chelsea last time out.

The result leaves Mikel Arteta still searching for his first win in charge of the club, while they begin the New Year sitting 12th in the table and 11 points adrift of the Champions League places.

Meanwhile, Man Utd had a good run off-late which sees them within 4 points of top 4. They have beaten Burnley and Newcastle in their last 2 games, which seem to have eased their pressure a bit because they were struggling against the ‘smaller sides’.

Arsenal vs Man United Line up:

Reiss Nelson has started Mikel Arteta’s first two English Premier League matches in charge of Arsenal, leaving club-record signing Nicolas Pepe on the bench.

Calum Chambers limped off against Chelsea with a knee injury and may play no part here. Shkodran Mustafi could get the nod if Sokratis does not recover from his own injury in time.

Arteta will hope to have Granit Xhaka available after the midfielder missed the defeat to Chelsea on Sunday through illness.

Bernd Leno is expected to be retained despite his howler against Chelsea which cost Arsenal the game.

Man United’s performance in EPL 2019:

Paul Pogba wasn’t in the right condition to play against Burnley on Saturday but is expected to return here.

Scott McTominay remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Daniel James and Mason Greenwood compete for a starting spot on the right wing.

Andreas Pereira or Jesse Lingard will play behind the lone striker.

Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will return to the side after being rested at the weekend.

Arsenal vs Man United Predicted line-up:

Arsenal

Bernd Leno; Bukayo Saka, David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles; Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Reiss Nelson; Alexandre Lacazette.

Man United

David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Fred, Paul Pogba; Daniel James, Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford; Anthony Martial.

Arsenal vs Man United: Today's Match Prediction

  1. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Arsenal’s last 4 home games in PL.
  2. Arsenal have lost their last 3 home matches in the PL.
  3. Arsenal have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 4 home matches in PL.
  4. Man Utd recorded an impressive 2-0 win away to Burnley on Saturday. The Red Devils kept their first clean sheet in the English Premier League since September in the process.
  5. Man Utd have won two of their last three matches away to Arsenal, though did lose 2-0 to the Gunners last time out at the Emirates. Nevertheless, they have the momentum heading into their New Year’s Day encounter.
  6. Aubameyang has scored 13 goals in the EPL so far this season. He is just one behind Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford. Don’t be surprised if one of these 2 stars settled the game.

Liverpool vs Sheffield: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

Liverpool saw off Wolves in their last EPL clash to extend their unbeaten EPL home run to 50 matches (W40, D10). The result saw them maintain their 13-point advantage on the top of the EPL table, with Leicester City being on 2nd.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United lost 1-0 at Man City on Sunday, their first away league defeat of the season. The defeat meant they dropped to 8th in the table.

This is the first English Premier League meeting between the two sides at Anfield since 2007 when Robbie Fowler scored a brace in a 4-0 win for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s performance in EPL 2019:

Jordan Henderson recovered from a knock to start Sunday’s hard fought win over Wolves.

Jurgen Klopp resisted wholesale changes at the weekend but will surely look to bring in fresh legs here.

Divock Origi, Naby Keita and James Milner will push for starts.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Nathaniel Clyne, Joel Matip, Fabinho, Dejan Lovren and Xherdan Shaqiri are all out.

Adam Lallana is likely to drop to the bench with Naby Keita likely to come in. However, James Milner is another option and could slot in a right-back if Klopp wishes to rest Alexander-Arnold ahead of the FA Cup Merseyside Derby.

Sheffield United’s performance in EPL 2019:

John Lundstram failed a fitness test prior to their defeat to Manchester City on Sunday and remains a doubt here. Simon Moore is also still a doubt.

David McGoldtrick and Oliver McBurnie will push for recalls, with some changes expected by Chris Wilder at Anfield.

Liverpool vs Sheffield Line up:

Liverpool

Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.

Sheffield

Dean Henderson; Chris Basham, John Egan, Jack O’Connell; George Baldock, Oliver Norwood, Luke Freeman, John Fleck, Enda Stevens; Oliver McBurnie, David McGoldrick.

Liverpool vs Sheffield: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Sheffield’s lost against Man City was their first away defeat in EPL and they would be eager to put that behind and continue their away form.
  2. Liverpool have won 3 of their last 5 meetings with Sheffield in all competition.
  3. Sadio Mane has been directly involved in more EPL goals than any other Liverpool player this season -16.
  4. Oliver Norwood has created more chances (29) than any other Sheffield United player in the EPL this season.
  5. Liverpool have won their last 17 home matches in the PL.
  6. Liverpool have been winning at both half time and full time in 11 of their last 12 home matches in PL.
  7. Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in their last 4 matches in PL.
  8. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Sheff Utd’s last 8 EPL away games.
  9. Sadio Mane has scored 1 more EPL goal than Mohamed Salah this season and is Liverpool’s top scorer. In addition, Mane also has 6 assists. However, Trent Alexander- Arnold has been outstanding. He has 8 assists so far. He is only behind Man City’s Kevin de Bruyne in terms of assists.

Man City vs Everton: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

Everton will be looking to continue their 100% start under Ancelotti when they travel to the champions Man City on New Year’s Day.

Man City returned to winning ways in the EPL with a 2-0 home win against Sheffield United on Sunday, and would be looking to continue their momentum.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti has won his first two games in charge of Everton but faces his toughest test to date here.

This is only the third ever meeting between the two managers and Ancelotti won the previous two when his Real Madrid side beat Pep’s Bayern Munich twice in the Champions League semi-finals in 2014.

Despite Ancelotti’s superior head-to-head record with Guardiola, City are favourites and expected to win on New Year’s Day.

Man City’s performance in EPL 2019:

Ederson returns from suspension and will regain his place in goal.

Gabriel Jesus was fit enough to make the bench against Sheffield United but Sergio Aguero is expected to start here.

John Stones and David Silva are still doubtful while long term absentees Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte are out.

Ilkay Gundogan, Nicolas Otamendi and Benjamin Mendy will push for recalls against Everton.

Eric Garcia will hope to keep his place in central defence after City kept a clean sheet against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Everton’s performance in EPL 2019:

Fabian Delph should be recalled to the starting XI to face his former club.

Carlo Ancelotti may revert back to a three-man defence at the Etihad, with Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne returning to the side.

Alex Iwobi, Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Cuco Martina are all still out while Beni Baningime and Morgan Schneiderlin are doubtful.

Man City vs Everton Line up:

Man City

Ederson; Kyle Walker, Eric Garcia, Fernandinho, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Rodrigo; Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling.

Everton

Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina, Michael Keane; Djibril Sidibe, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Fabian Delph, Lucas Digne; Bernard; Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.

Man City vs Everton: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Man City kept their first clean sheet at home since October against Sheffield.
  2. Man City have won their last 4 matches against Everton in all competitions. They have never won 5 in a tow against the Toffees.
  3. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Everton’s last 6 away games in the English Premier League.
  4. Man City have scored at least 2 goals in their last 4 matches against Everton in all competitions.
  5. Everton are undefeated in their last 5 matches PL.
  6. Kevin De Bruyne has scored 7 goals in addition to 12 assists. He is expected to add to his tally.
  7. Sergio Aguero has scored 10 EPL goals this season. He is just 1 behind Raheem Sterling, who is City’s top scorer this season.
  8. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in great form of late. It has seen his EPL tally reach 8, 2 more than Richarlison.
  9. Everton are winless in their last 8 EPL away games against Man City (Draw-4, loss-4). However, 3 of their last 4 visits to Etihad have ended in draws.

Man City vs Sheffield United: English Premier League (EPL) Prediction

Man City are in danger of slipping into freefall after conceding two goals in the final eight minutes of normal time to lose 3-2 away to Wolves on Friday. The defending champions are 14 points off Liverpool and the Reds have a game in hand. The title race is over and now they need to ensure they aren’t dragged into the race to finish fourth as they host Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are remarkably seventh in the Premier League. They are level on points with Tottenham and ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal. The Blades are incredibly unbeaten in away league matches this season and have a real opportunity to prolong that streak against a City side in crisis.

This is the first meeting between the two sides since an FA Cup meeting 11 years ago that ended 2-1 to the Blades. Daniel Sturridge scored the lone goal for City on that occasion. A lot has changed since then for both clubs.

Man City performance in EPL 2019:

Ederson is suspended after being sent off in Friday’s 3-2 defeat away to Wolves. Claudio Bravo will deputise.

There will be some tired legs in the Manchester City camp and Pep Guardiola will have no choice but to wield changes here.

Sergio Aguero was sacrificed midway through the first half as a result of Ederson’s red card and will be fine to start here.

Kevin De Bruyne was substituted off during the second half with this game in mind, so it’s safe to assume he will start against Sheffield United.

Phil Foden, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ilkay Gundogan will push for starts on Sunday. Guardiola will hope to have Gabriel Jesus available after the Brazilian missed out against Wolves through illness.

Man City predicted XI: Claudio Bravo; Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Nicolas Otamendi, Joao Cancelo; Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden; Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Riyad Mahrez.

Sheffield United performance in EPL 2019:

Back-up goalkeeper Simon Moore is the only injury concern for Sheffield United ahead of Sunday’s trip to the Etihad.

With Manchester City on the ropes, it would be a shame if fitness concerns didn’t allow Chris Wilder to name his strongest side.

The only possible changes may come in attack, with Lys Mousset rotating with one of the strikers.

Sheffield United predicted XI: Dean Henderson; Chris Basham, John Egan, Jack O’Connell; Enda Stevens, John Fleck, Oliver Norwood, John Lundstram, George Baldock; David McGoldrick, Lys Mousset.

Man City vs Sheffield United: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Manchester City have conceded 23 PL goals in 19 games this season
  2. Raheem Sterling has been involved in 24 goals in all competitions this season- 20 goals, 4 assists.
  3. No player has provided more assists in Europe’s big five leagues this season than Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne (11).
  4. Man City have won 25 of their last 29 home matches in PL.
  5. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Man City’s last 10 PL games.
  6. Man City have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 home matches against Sheff Utd in all competitions.
  7. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Sheff Utd’s last 7 away games in PL.
  8. Sheff Utd are undefeated in their last 9 away matches in PL.
  9. Man City have scored at least 2 goals in 6 of their last 7 matches in PL.

Liverpool vs Wolves: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

Liverpool will host a Wolves side full on confidence during their Premier League clash on Sunday. Liverpool had a dream Christmas. They won the Club World Cup and have opened up a 13-point lead on top of the PL table with a game in hand. They thrashed Leicester in their last game.

Meanwhile, Wolves came from behind to beat Man City 3-2 on Friday night to break into the top 5. Their brilliant run against the ‘big 6’ make it an awesome game on papers. However, Liverpool had an extra day rest and also have far better depth compared to Wolves.

Liverpool performance in EPL 2019:

Liverpool will wear the golden Badge of FIFA World Champions in the Premier League against Wolves at Anfield on Sunday.

Given the manner of Liverpool’s lead in the title race, coupled with the amount of games they have played in quick succession, on different continents, over the festive period, do not be surprised to see Jurgen Klopp shuffle his pack here.

Klopp doesn’t have many options in defence, however, unless James Milner drops in at right or left-back to give Trent Alexander-Arnold or Andrew Robertson, respectively, a rest.

The likes of Adam Lallana, Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi will hope to get rare starts if changes are made for Sunday, though Wolves represent a very difficult task.

Jordan Henderson suffered a cut leg in the win over Leicester on Boxing Day but Klopp afterwards insisted the injury was nothing serious and that his captain wanted to stay on. He may give him a rest here, however.

Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Naby Keita, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.

Wolves performance in EPL 2019:

Nuno will have to check on the fitness levels of his players after they gave absolutely everything to beat Manchester City 3-2 on Friday night.

It would be a shame for the spectacle if the quick turnaround between matches prevents Wolves from fielding players like Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez at Anfield.

Willy Boly (ankle) and Morgan Gibbs-White (back) are out.

Jonny looked in trouble against Man City and might be replaced by Ruben Vinagre

Wolves predicted XI: Rui Patricio; Leander Dendoncker, Conor Coady, Romain Saiss; Matt Doherty, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Vinagre; Adama Traore, Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota.

Liverpool vs Wolves: Today's Match Prediction

  1. The Wolves have picked up 14 points from losing positions in PL this season, more than any other side in the division.
  2. Liverpool have won their last 16 home matches in PL.
  3. Liverpool have scored at least 2 goals in their last 16 home matches in PL.
  4. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of Liverpool’s last 9 PL games.
  5. Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 PL matches.
  6. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Wolves’ last 4 PL games.
  7. Wolves are undefeated in 13 of their last 14 PL matches.
  8. Wolves have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 away PL matches.
  9. Wolves have won 6, drawn 6 and lost 6 of their last 18 games against ‘Big 6’.
  10. Wolves’ Raul Jimenez has been directly involved in 26 goals in all competitions this season (17 goals, nine assists) – more than any other Premier League player.

Burnley vs Man United: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

Man United travel to face Burnley in the English Premier League following their thumping win against Boxing Day win over Newcastle. They will be looking to make it successive EPL wins. However, consistency has been a real problem this term, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are currently within touching distance of the fourth Champions League spot.

Meanwhile, Burnley are coming on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Everton which saw their 2-game winning streak end. They would like to get back to winning ways and sense the opportunities knowing Man United have struggled against the ‘average’ sides so far in EPL.

Burnley vs Man United Line up:

Burnley forward Ashley Barnes is set to return to the starting line-up at home to Manchester United after being rested for the defeat at Everton.

Midfielder Jeff Hendrick is back after missing that match through suspension, although Johan Berg Gudmundsson’s first appearance since early October after coming on as a substitute gives Sean Dyche more options.

Winger Aaron Lennon could return after illness while Matej Vydra is back in the squad having been given time off following the birth of his baby on Christmas Eve.

Johann Gudmundsson returned from injury in the 1-0 defeat to Everton.

Man United’s performance in EPL 2019:

Scott McTominay looks set to miss Manchester United’s trip to Turf Moor. The Scotland midfielder was replaced by Paul Pogba at half-time against Newcastle on Boxing Day with what manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suspects is knee ligament damage. McTominay was seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches.

Axel Tuanzebe missed Thursday’s match through injury, while Marcos Rojo, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Eric Bailly are long-term absentees. Nemanja Matic and Diogo Dalot are among those pushing to be included in the squad for Burnley.

Despite scoring against Newcastle, Mason Greenwood is expected to drop to the bench for Daniel James at Burnley.

Paul Pogba got 45 minutes under his belt on Boxing Day and will surely come into consideration for a start at Turf Moor.

Andreas Pereira played well against Newcastle and will challenge Jesse Lingard for a starting berth here.

Luke Shaw has suffered from muscle injuries in the past and two games in the space of a couple of days may put him in serious danger of another. Ashley Young is on standby.

Burnley vs Man United Predicted line-up:

Burnley

Nick Pope; Matthew Lowton, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Jeff Hendrick, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Dwight McNeil; Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes.

Man United

David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Ashley Young; Fred, Paul Pogba; Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Danie James; Anthony Martial.

Burnley vs Man United: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Since winning their first ever English Premier League meeting with Man Utd in August 2009, Burnley are winless in their subsequent nine against them in the competition (D4 L5).
  2. Manchester United have conceded just one goal in their five English Premier League away games against Burnley, keeping a clean sheet in each of the last four and winning the last three.
  3. Burnley haven’t lost their last league game in a calendar year since 2012 (0-1 vs Leicester in the Championship), winning three and drawing three since.
  4. Manchester United haven’t lost their last league game in a calendar year since 2011 (2-3 vs Blackburn Rovers), winning four and drawing three since.
  5. None of Burnley’s last 16 English Premier League home games have finished level, with the Clarets winning eight and losing eight at Turf Moor. No other side is a longer run without a draw at home in the competition.
  6. Burnley have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 6 home matches against Man Utd in all competitions.
  7. Man Utd have kept a clean sheet in their last 4 away matches against Burnley in all competitions.
  8. Man Utd have won their last 3 away matches against Burnley in all competitions.
  9. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Burnley’s last 3 EPL games.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

After managing a draw against Bournemouth in Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge, Arsenal host Chelsea in a bid to move up in the table. They are currently in the bottom half of the table.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will look to bounce back from their 2-0 loss to Southampton as their lead in top 4 is almost blown and another dropped point might see them drop out of Champions League spot.

Arsenal’s performance in EPL 2019:

Calum Chambers is available again after serving a one-match ban. As Sokratis came off against Bournemouth with a knock, Chambers could slot straight into defence here.

Mesut Ozil recovered from injury to start Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge of Arsenal.

Nicolas Pepe and Matteo Guendouzi will hope to benefit from any rotation applied.

Gabriel Martinelli (thigh) missed out on Boxing Day through injury and remains a doubt. Hector Bellerin (hamstring), Rob Holding (knee) and Dani Cellabos (hamstring) will be assessed, while Sead Kolasinac (ankle) and Kieran Tierney (shoulder) remain out.

Chelsea’s performance in EPL 2019:

Frank Lampard will certainly make changes from the side that lost 2-0 at home to Southampton on Boxing Day.

The Chelsea head coach will desperately hope Mason Mount is fit enough to start, while Mateo Kovacic will return to the side after missing out on Thursday through suspension.

Marcos Alonso will hope to start at left-back, but Lampard may opt for Cesar Azpilicueta on that side and Reece James at right-back.

Despite struggling against Southampton, Lampard afterwards suggested Callum Hudson-Odoi would be rewarded with game time after impressing in training.

Reece James and Marcos Alonso missed the defeat by Southampton, with the latter more likely to be fit to play.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Line up:

Arsenal

Bernd Leno; Bukayo Saka, David Luiz, Calum Chambers, Ainsley Maitland-Niles; Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka; Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; Alexandre Lacazette.

Chelsea

Kepa Arrizabalega; Reece James, Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori, Cesar Azpilicueta; Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante; Willian, Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Chelsea have lost five of their last seven in the English Premier League.
  2. Chelsea haven’t kept a clean sheet in each of their last nine matches in all competitions. Arsenal, meanwhile, have kept just one in their last 16.
  3. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Arsenal’s last 3 home games in the EPL.
  4. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Chelsea’s last 3 games in EPL.
  5. Arsenal have failed to win 10 of their last 11 matches in EPL.
  6. Arsenal have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 3 home matches in EPL.
  7. Arsenal are undefeated in their last 5 home matches against Chelsea in all competitions.
  8. Chelsea have only lost their final league match in one of the last 16 calendar years, back in 2011.
  9. Arsenal lost their final league game of 2018, 5-1 against Liverpool. They’ve not lost their last league game in consecutive calendar years since 1994/1995 (vs QPR and Wimbledon).
  10. Arsenal have never lost a English Premier League home game against Chelsea when they’ve scored the first goal, winning 11 and drawing four of their 15 such games.

Wolves vs Manchester City: English Premier League Match Prediction

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

Man City travel to Molineux to face Wolves in the EPL on Friday night with an intention to avenge their 2-0 loss to them in the return English Premier League fixtures in October. While Man City are riding on confidence after comfortable wins over Arsenal and Leicester in their last 2 EPL games, Wolves too are coming on the back of another come-from-behind win against Norwich.

Man City are 11 pts behind EPL leaders Liverpool (before the gameweek) on 3rd in the table while Wolves have a similar gap with City and are placed 6th.  They are having another good season, which has seen them lose just 3 games in the EPL so far. However, they have played 9 draws.

Wolves performance in EPL 2019:

Nuno Espirito Santo has no fresh injury concerns for Friday’s welcome of Manchester City.

With the extra day of rest, Nuno may name an unchanged side from the weekend.

Adama Traore had scored a brace when the 2 sides met last time and might trouble the City defence once again.

Man City’s performance in EPL 2019:

Man City have won four on the bounce in all competitions since losing the Manchester derby earlier this month.

Sergio Aguero made his return from injury from the bench on Saturday. Pep Guardiola now needs to decide whether to start him or Gabriel Jesus on Friday.

Riyad Mahrez starred against former club Leicester but he has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at City.

Rodrigo should return to the starting XI, but David Silva and John Stones look set to miss out through injury once again.

Angelino, Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko compete to start at right-back.

Ilkay Gundogan picked up a knock against Leicester and that could pave the way for Phil Foden to start here, unless Bernardo Silva stays in central midfield.

Kevin De Bruyne had Man City fans worried when he limped off in the closing stages against Leicester, but he was quick to ease concerns over his fitness by insisting that it was only cramp and the Belgian should be available for this one.

Rodri, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva are all one booking away from a ban.

Wolves vs Manchester City Line up:

Wolves

Rui Patricio; Romain Saiss, Conor Coady, Leander Dendoncker; Matt Doherty, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Jonny; Diogo Jota, Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore.

Man City

  5. Wolves have lost just 1 of their last 4 games against Man City in all competitions. They won 1 and drew 2- of which 1 they won on penalties.

  7. Wolves have only lost one of their last 13 league matches and have a super record against the top-six since the beginning of last season.
  8. Man City have only kept one clean sheet in their last 13 matches in all competitions.

Manchester United vs Newcastle: English Premier League (EPL) Prediction

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

Manchester United host Newcastle in English Premier League as they look to bounce back from another below par performance which saw them lose 2-0 to Watford on Sunday. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side still cannot find a way to play when the opposition give them most of the ball and the same problems will likely rear their head here.

Newcastle are only below Man United in the EPL table on goal difference after beating Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday. Newcastle beat Man United 1-0 in the reverse fixture this season.

Solskjaer will demand a reaction from his players but, as has been the case all season, do not expect one now all of the teams outside the top-six know the blueprint how to frustrate Man United.

Man United’s performance in EPL 2019:

David de Gea will keep his place in the XI despite his howler against Watford on the weekend.

Paul Pogba made his comeback from injury as a substitute in Man United’s 2-0 defeat to Watford on Sunday and he is expected to start on Boxing Day.

Jesse Lingard, Fred or Scott McTominay could make room for the Frenchman in midfield.

Mason Greenwood will surely get the nod to start ahead of one of Daniel James or Anthony Martial on Boxing Day.

Ashley Young or Brandon Williams will fancy their chances of replacing Luke Shaw at left-back too.

David de Gea made another howler at the weekend but should start here.

Marcos Rojo and Diogo Dalot are closing in on first-team returns.

Manchester United vs Newcastle Line up:

Jonjo Shelvey and Miguel Almiron made their comebacks from injury in Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, with the latter scoring his first goal for the club.

Florian Lejeune turned in a strong performance on his comeback from another long-term knee injury at the weekend.

In an ideal world Steve Bruce may hold Lejeune back here given the quick turnaround between matches but injuries are limiting his options.

Paul Dummett suffered a groin injury against Palace and is likely to miss out on Boxing Day. Bruce will hope Jetro Willems recovers from a knock in time to return.

Former Manchester United target Sean Longstaff could come into midfield to provide fresh legs if Bruce feels that is necessary.

Manchester United vs Newcastle Predicted line-up:

Man United

David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Ashley Young; Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba; Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial.

Newcastle

Martin Dubravka; Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Florian Lejeune; Javier Manquillo, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey, Miguel Almiron, Jetro Williems; Joelinton, Andy Carroll.

Manchester United vs Newcastle: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Steve Bruce’s Newcastle have won three of their last four EPL games.
  2. Newcastle are aiming to complete their first league double over Man United since the 1930/31 campaign.
  3. Man United haven’t kept a clean sheet in the EPL since September and have failed to keep one in five of their last six home league matches with the Magpies.
  4. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Newcastle’s last 3 away EPL games.
  5. Man United are undefeated in their last 7 home matches in EPL.
  6. Man United have lost just one of their last 34 top-flight home games against Newcastle. However, Newcastle have won 2 of their last 4 meetings.
  7. Man United haven’t lost a home game on Boxing Day since losing 3-0 to Liverpool in 1978.

Chelsea vs Southampton: English Premier League Match Prediction

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

Chelsea will welcome Southampton to Stamford Bridge in the EPL Boxing Day clash. The Blues held onto their 4th place with a victory in the derby with Tottenham, while the Saints moved out of the relegation zone and are currently sitting on the 17th place with 18 points – three above the danger zone.

The win over Spurs moved Chelsea four points clear of English Premier League top 4 and they would be keen to increase that lead further when they host strugglers Southampton on Thursday.

Chelsea’s performance in EPL 2019:

Mateo Kovacic serves a one-match ban for Chelsea due to an accumulation of bookings. Jorginho will return to the starting XI as a result.

Fikayo Tomori returned from injury to start in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Tottenham.

Reece James should start at right-back after Cesar Azpilicueta suffered a hamstring injury at the weekend.

Emerson will hope to replace Marcos Alonso at left-back on Boxing Day.

Frank Lampard played a three-man defence against Tottenham but may revert to a back four against relegation strugglers Southampton even though the structure played well for them.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic will hope to benefit from changes to the starting XI.

Southampton’s performance in EPL 2019:

Southampton got back to winning ways last time out as the picked up huge 3 points in a vital relegation six-pointer against Villa on Saturday.

Danny Ings scored twice in the 3-1 win at Villa and he now has 11 goals for the season and is the joint second highest scorer in the league.

Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will be tempted to name the same starting eleven for this game given how well they played in the win over Villa.

Chelsea vs Southampton Line up:

Chelsea

Kepa Arrizabalaga; Fikayo Tomori, Antonio Rudiger, Reece James, Emerson; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho; Mason Mount, Willian, Callum Hudson-Odoi; Tammy Abraham.

Southampton

Alex McCarthy; Cedric Soares, Jan Bednarek, Jack Stephens, Ryan Bertrand; Stuart Armstrong, James Ward-Prowse, Pierre- Emile Hojbjerg, Nathan Redmond; Danny Ings, Shane Long.

Chelsea vs Southampton: Today's Match Prediction

  1. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of Southampton’s last 9 games in the English Premier League.
  2. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Chelsea’s last 6 home games in EEPL.
  3. Southampton have failed to score on their last three trips to Stamford Bridge and haven’t won away to Chelsea since 2015. The home side are favourites.
  4. Southampton have won three of their last five in the league.
  5. Danny Ings and Tammy Abraham have scored 11 goals each in the EPL and are the joint-second top scorers. Though Ings has been picking up goals in last few games as well, Abraham has found it difficult since his return from hip injury.
  6. Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount have scored 5 goals each for Chelsea while Willian scored just his 2 EPL brace in Chelsea’s last game against the Spurs.
  7. Chelsea have won seven of their last 8 EPL games against Southampton (1 draw), since a 3-1 home loss in October 2015.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal: English Premier League Match Prediction

New manager Mikel Arteta will take charge of his first Arsenal game when they travel to face Bournemouth in their EPL game on Thursday. He watched from the stands as Arsenal were held to a goalless draw against Everton in their last English Premier League game.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth followed up their 1-0 win over Chelsea with a 1-0 defeat at home to Burnley on Saturday.

Arsenal are currently sitting in the bottom half of the EPL points table while Bournemouth are 14th, 4 points and 3 places below them.

Bournemouth’s performance in EPL 2019:

Callum Wilson was only fit enough for the bench on Saturday but should return to the starting XI on Boxing Day.

Joshua King will either move out to the wing, dropping Ryan Fraser to the bench, or play behind Wilson, which would relegate Dan Gosling to the bench.

Diego Rico is suspended for one-match due to an accumulation of bookings and will need replacing at left-back against Arsenal.

Charlie Daniels and Nathan Ake have previously stepped in at left-back this season but both are out injured leaving Eddie Howe short of options on Boxing Day.

With Adam Smith also sidelined, Jack Simpson may have to adapt at left-back as he did on one occasion last season.

Harry Wilson has returned to parent club Liverpool for treatment on a dead leg and looks set to miss out again for the Cherries.

Arsenal’s performance in EPL 2019:

Sokratis returns from suspension for Arsenal but now the Gunners have lost Calum Chambers to a one-match ban.

With Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac both still injured, winger Bukayo Saka may have to continue at left-back for the Gunners.

Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin are doubtful for the game while Dani Ceballos and Rob Holding are still out.

Alexandre Lacazette was pushed to the fringes under interim manager Freddie Ljungberg and will hope for better fortunes under Mikel Arteta.

Arteta took over as permanent Arsenal manager on Sunday and it remains to be seen how the away side will line up in his first game in charge.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal Predicted Line-up:

Bournemouth

Aaron Ramsdale; Jack Stacey, Simon Francis, Chris Mepham, Jack Simpson; Ryan Fraser, Philip Billing, Jefferson Lerma, Lewis Cook; Joshua King; Callum Wilson.

Arsenal

Bernd Leno; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, David Luiz, Bukayo Saka; Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka; Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Bournemouth have lost 6 of their last 7 matches in PL.
  2. Arsenal have failed to win 9 of their last 10 English Premier League matches.
  3. Bournemouth have won just 1 of their last 10 meetings with Arsenal in all competitions.
  4. Arsenal have never failed to score against the Cherries and are unlikely to do so on Thursday either.
  5. Bournemouth are winless in their 4 EPL fixtures on Boxing Day.
  6. Of the current sides in the PL, only Man Utd have a higher winning percentage – 80- than Arsenal on Boxing Day- 62 percent.
  7. The game against Everton was Arsenal’s first goalless draw in 77 EPL games, since December 2017.

Tottenham vs Brighton: English Premier League (EPL) Match Prediction

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

Tottenham Hotspur will look to bounce back quickly from their defeat to Chelsea when they host Brighton in their EPL clash on Boxing Day.

Spurs fell to a third defeat in five games across all competitions on Sunday, going down 2-0 to Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Brighton, meanwhile, are also coming on the back of a home defeat against Sheffield United and now just have one win in their last seven matches in the PL. They head into Boxing Day five points off the drop.

Spurs had lost to Brighton in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Tottenham’s performance in EPL 2019:

Son Heung-Min starts a three-match ban for his straight red card for violent conduct in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho is therefore forced into at least one change for the Boxing Day welcome of Brighton but he may ponder others too.

Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose will all push for starts on Thursday.

Son’s unavailability could prompt Mourinho to hand Ryan Sessegnon his English Premier League debut for Tottenham. Otherwise a formation change could be on the cards.

Brighton’s performance in EPL 2019:

Brighton remain without Jose Izquierdo and Solly March for the Boxing Day trip to Tottenham.

Graham Potter will ponder changes after their 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday. Fresh legs may be required here given the quick turnaround between matches.

Adam Webster was at fault for Sheffield United’s winner and Shane Duffy will hope to regain his place at centre-back here.

Aaron Connolly burst onto the scene with a double in Brighton’s win over Tottenham earlier in the season and will hope to start against the north London outfit here.

Tottenham vs Brighton Predicted line-up:

Tottenham

Paulo Gazzaniga; Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose; Eric Dier, Harry Winks; Ryan Sessegnon, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura; Harry Kane.

Brighton

Mat Ryan; Martin Montoya, Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk, Dan Burn; Aaron Mooy, Dale Stephens, Davy Propper; Pascal Gross; Neal Maupay, Aaron Connolly.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Brighton have failed to score on their last three trips to Tottenham but Jose Mourinho should expect a tough game on Thursday.
  2. Harry Kane has fired a blank in four of his last five games.
  3. Neal Maupay is Brighton’s top EPL goal scorer this season with seven, at least five more than any other player.
  4. Spurs have won their last 3 top-flight home games against Brighton, keeping a clean sheet each time.
  5. Brighton are looking to complete their first ever league double over Spurs.
  6. Spurs are unbeaten in their 13 top-flight Boxing Day clash since losing at Portsmouth in 2013.
  7. Meanwhile, Brighton are winless in their last 10 Boxing Day games.
  8. Since Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge of Spurs, no club has conceded more goals across all competitions- 14- joint most with Arsenal.
  9. Son Heung-min was red carded for the 3rd time in 2019.
  10. Spurs have scored just 3 goals in their last 3 games.

Leicester City vs Liverpool: English Premier League (EPL) Prediction

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

Liverpool return to English Premier League action after winning the Club World Cup when they travel to take on Leicester on Friday night. EPL leaders Liverpool lead 2nd placed Leicester by 10 pts despite playing one game less.

Meanwhile, Leicester are coming on the back of their first EPL defeat since October on Saturday after slipping to a 3-1 defeat to Man City. Another defeat here might see them drop to 3rd in the table.

Liverpool will be full of confidence after returning to England as world champions. A win here would extend their lead at the top of the table to 13 points with a game in hand.

It is a game Man City will keep a close tab on. A win for Liverpool will make it further tough for Man City to catch them but the practical thing for now looks like catching Leicester so, instead, they would be hoping for Leicester to drop points.

Leicester’s performance in EPL 2019:

Despite losing 3-1 to Manchester City on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers is not expected to change his starting XI against Liverpool.

Harvey Barnes picked up a knock to his ankle against City and will need assessing closer to kick-off. Marc Albrighton and Demarai Gray are on standby to deputise.

Rodgers has said he will rest Jamie Vardy over the Christmas period but it’s unlikely to happen on Boxing Day. Potentially in the game after, however..

Liverpool’s performance in EPL 2019:

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was in a protective boot at the end of Saturday’s World Club Cup final victory over Flamengo and is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Georginio Wijnaldum missed both World Club Cup matches with a muscle injury and remains a major doubt for Liverpool on Boxing Day.

Expect Naby Keita and James Milner to play either side of Jordan Henderson in central midfield as a result of Liverpool’s injuries.

Dejan Lovren did not travel to Qatar after picking up a thigh injury earlier this month, and no timescale has so far been put on his return.

Leicester City vs Liverpool Predicted line-up:

Leicester

Kasper Schmeichel; Ben Chilwell, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira; Ayoze Perez, Youri Tielemans, Wilfred Ndidi, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy

Liverpool

Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita; Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah.

Leicester City vs Liverpool: Today's Match Prediction

  1. Liverpool are undefeated in their last 34 EPL matches.
  2. Liverpool have scored at least 2 goals in their last 8 EPL matches.
  3. Leicester are undefeated in their last 11 home matches in EPL.
  4. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Liverpool’s last 3 away EPL games.
  5. Leicester have only lost three games this season and one was to Liverpool. Both teams have scored in the last five meetings between the two sides.
  6. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have both scored 9 goals each on the EPL and are likely to add to their tallies.
  7. Jamie Vardy has scored 17 goals already in the EPL and he fancies playing against Liverpool. Expect him to increase his tally.

EPL 2019-West Ham vs Tottenham

For all the fantasy football geeks out there, we share prediction tips of league matches that will give them a better shot at predicting and winning. Starting with EPL 2019.

All eyes will be on Jose Mourinho, who returns to Premier League after replacing Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs when they travel to face West Ham on Saturday. They are currently placed 14th in the table, only a point above their opponent West Ham, who have 13 points.

West Ham’s performance in EPL 2019:

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed Roberto Jimenez will continue in goal despite his poor form. Though Pellegrini has little choice with No.1 goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski out injured.

West Ham’s Mark Noble and Michail Antonio trained this week without any problem and could be in contention, says Manuel Pellegrini, who reports no fresh injury concerns. Lukasz Fabianski (hip) is a long-term absentee.

Mark Noble, Jack Wilshere and Michail Antonio will be included in the matchday squad after training all week without any problems.

Angelo Ogbonna and Andriy Yarmolenko may come into the side that lost 3-0 at Burnley.

They are likely to use 4-5-1 formation

Tottenham’s performance in EPL 2019:

Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen are ruled out for Tottenham ahead of their trip to West Ham.

Michel Vorm (calf) is also out while Tanguy Ndombele (groin) is doubtful. Erik Lamela is a doubt with a thigh problem and will be assessed ahead of this one.

It’s tough to see how Spurs will line up following the Wednesday morning appointment of Jose Mourinho.

However, they are likely to use 4-2-3-1 formation.

West Ham vs Tottenham: Predicted Line-up

West Ham

Roberto Jimenez; Ryan Fredricks, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, Aaron Cresswell; Declan Rice, Mark Noble, Declan Rice, Pablo Fornals, Felipe Anderson; Sebastien Haller.

Tottenham

Paulo Gazzaniga; Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies; Tanguay Ndombele, Eric Dier; Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min; Harry Kane.

EPL 2019: West Ham vs Tottenham Prediction

  1. Tottenham have failed to win their last 12 away Premier League matches. However, the away team have won 5 of the last 6 meetings between these sides in all competitions and Spurs look likely to win a third consecutive top-flight away match against the Hammers for the first time.
  2. Tottenham have been winning at both half time and full time in their last 3 away matches against West Ham in all competitions.
  3. West Ham have conceded at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 Premier League matches and with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in Spurs’ line-up, expect the Hammers to concede once again.
  4. West Ham have failed to win their last 6 Premier League matches. Though they were the first team to beat Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they might not be able to do so on Jose Mourinho’s 1st game in-charge.
  5. West Ham are looking to secure consecutive league wins over Spurs for the first time since 2013-14 but might have to wait for another year to erase that struggling record.
  6. Harry Kane is Spurs’ top scorer so far and has been in a great form in the Euro qualifiers – where he finished the top scorer – and should finally be able to score after failing to do so in Spurs last 3 games.
  7. Jose Mourinho looks likely to end Tottenham Hotspur’s run of 12 Premier League away matches without victory.
  8. West Ham United are looking for their first win in seven matches after dropping to 16th but are least likely to do so.
  9. Spurs have gone 83 Premier League matches without a 0-0 draw, the third-longest such run after Manchester United (114 matches between May 1999 and May 2002) and Ipswich Town (87 matches between August 1994 and September 2001).
  10. Harry Kane has scored 28 goals in 45 Premier League London derbies. Only Thierry Henry (43), Teddy Sheringham (32) and Frank Lampard (32) have netted more in such matches.
